Emulators doesn't play sound correctly
« on: 12:40, 14 February 10 »
I'm composing a few tracks for a game these days, using my real CPC (of course).
Later when the tracks are finished, I then load the track on an emulator, and notice a significant difference in the sound. The most noticeable difference is that the center-channel is way too loud in emulators, and it seems to be all of them. I've only tried Caprice, Arnold and WinAPE though, but I'm still guessing it's all of them.

What gives? Am I the only one annoyed by this?

Please send me your DSK.
I will record a WAV from JavaCPC. Then lets check, how it sounds...

Haven't tested with JavaCPC. Will check later on the girlfriends Windoze machine. (But honestly, with a name like JavaCPC it needs to run on Linux just as well as on Windows).

Just tested with JavaCPC on my Linux, using the JAR version from sourceforge.

It seems to playback the music a lot better. Although all channels seem to be slightly too low.

Ask Sun Microsystems for that.
Java for Linux has a very bad sound implementation.
On Mac-OS-X it runs much better...
