Hello,

I have some issues with WinApe:

1) Why can't I write to drive B sometimes?

2) How can I configure the windowed mode so that it has the original aspect ratio?

3) On fullscreen, how do I get rid of the toolbars?
(OK, this one was easy, just hiding both from the display menu)

4) How do I disable the tape? So it doesn't look for a tape on startup.

5) I was going to ask why WinApe destroys my dsks sometimes but I just read here that it's a known bug : >

Thanks in advance : D

Well,

1. sorry, no idea. Let's wait for the dev to reply, though I'd guess he'd like more details!
2. I am quite sure you can't actually stretch it, so it always has the correct AR? Can you post a screenshot? Maybe checking/unchecking some Display options would fix it...
3. yeah, that's it :)
4. Are you starting in 464 mode? You need to load the 6128 ROM perhaps?

1) Probably because your DSKs are in an area on your PC, where is no write access?
2) Disable Direct-X stretch.
3) Enable "Hide control panel" and enable "Hide menus" in "Display settings" (Accessible with F12)
4) Eject the tape?!?
When you put your ear on a hot stove, you can smell how stupid you are ...

Brilliant, always wondered about this and has bugged me for ages.

Thanks  :)

Also if the original poster is trying to write to a DSK image which is inside a ZIP file, that will not work, you must unzip that file to be able to write to the DSK image.

If it's going to tape by default, that sounds like you don't have AMSDOS in ROM 7? Go to Settings, Memory and make sure Upper ROM 7 has AMSDOS in it. If you need to use 800k Disk Images you can have PARADOS in there instead.
* Using the old Amstrad Languages :D   * with the Firmware :P
* I also like to problem solve code in BASIC :)   * And type-in Type-Ins! :D
