I have downloaded Amstrad mania. Do I need to have any additional software to make it work?
Currently when I click on Amstrad mania icon it asks me for Access, which I do not have.

@Johnny Olsen : actually it's not the front end, it's the data for the GB system


@Morri : yes, you need the Gamebase stuff to get it working. See the links in Johnny's post!

Aaarrrggghhhh my memory has let me down.

Anyway here is a guide to setup Amstradmania gamebase.



1. Goto GameBase - Universal Emulator frontend and Database Utility and download gamebase-setup-v1.3-full

2. Run it

3. Goto the Gamebase folder - c/Gamebase

4. Run GBToolbox

5. Then File/New Gamebase

6. Enter name - AmstradMania

7. Goto the Gamebase folder and delete AmstradMania

8. Unrar AmstradManiav6 to C/Gamebase/

9. Make A new directory c/Gamebase/AmstradMania/Emulators

10. Goto http://cngsoft.no-ip.org/cpce/index.htm and download CPCE194.zip

11. Goto http://www.winape.net/downloads.jsp and download WinAPE20A18

12. Make to Directories - CPCE and WinApe in c/Gamebase/AmstradMania/Emulators

13. Unzip cpce194 to c/Gamebase/AmstradMania/Emulators/CPCE

14. Unzip WinAPE20A18 to c/Gamebase/AmstradMania/Emulators/WinApe

15. Go to Gamebase directory and run GameBase

Thanks, I've managed to get it to work! I really like this, a very tidy frontend with a great filter. I especially like the built in music player so you can listen to the games tunes without loading up the game. Great stuff and thank you to the people who made this.
