Excellent lunchtime distraction :)
Nothing new into the game? I will do not reload Airwolf for that. ;D

Yes, According to what I have read, they have fixed the game so that it can be finished, I have not checked it.

OK. What I see on the video is the usual pokes to freeze the timer and be immortal.
I though the ending bug was already patched. Nice to have done it if it wasn't so!
I think it would have been appreciated to patch the graphics display too.
The title screen and music is awesome!
But the game - nah - still extremely frustrating and imho unplayable without the cheats. And with cheats on, I don't see the point to fly through all the screens.

Exactly that! What the game itself needs is a complete overhaul of the game mechanics. A game does not live by graphics and music alone.
I don't know what you say, I enjoyed having my ass kicked for a few minutes😀

I don't manage to survive even for the first screen. Even the slightest mistake kills you instantly.
Yup, it's good for a few laughs😄

I see what he say... Passed the title screen, it is the same shitty game. ;D
Exactly, I didn't get my hopes up so I enjoyed it for what it was!
I rather enjoy kicking someone's ass!
Hm ... Gryzor, I don't think we should meet in person.
May be we just had to do the R-Type title screen and music to make people happy with a reloaded version. ;D
Eh, give some, take some...😆
I might add that the graphics and the title music are top. Good work, guys! It's just the game itself ...
I pictured a good Airwolf game to be similar to Choplifter II on the Gameboy. You save only one scientist, but then the rest of the level could consist of puzzles (activating a switch and a door opens somewhere else, etc.) to reach the scientist. Make the screens less cluttered so that maneuvering is much easier.
(but admittedly ideas are a dime a dozen)
perhaps you could rip the main sprite, music, title screen and make an entire new game?
Hi,
Well done guys for ironing out the bugs/errors. Title screen and music are really nice. As your rendition of the theme is far superior, could that be patched into the actual game? One obvious thing I noticed while watching the video was that Airwolf does not fall when stationary, which I'm sure was not the case in the original. Is this something that has also been changed?
Back in the day I owned this game and boy was it hard. For that reason I was put off and never really played it. However, what I did like about the the game was the in-game music and the Airwolf sprite. I really thought the sprite was very well done but the game play was just way too hard. Personally I always thought the game just didn't sit right considering it was situated in some underground setting. Just didn't make any sense to me. I think it would have been far better to have had the gameplay in an outdoor setting, horizontally scrolling. Startup sequence to the game could be Airwolf starting up and lifting off from a cave (like the series) and then the main game starting.

If I am not mistaken, with this release you start with all patches on:
- no gravity-patch
- no collisions-patch
- timer-patch
Hi!
I'm one of the guys behind this project.
The idea of airwolf reloaded is not to just release a cheat version with a new screen.
The "release" of this disc is the beginning of an in-depth study of this game.
We are trying to find out why this game was released in this state.
Why is there only one level?
Why is the level design so lame?
In airwolf reloaded, we started by adding in-game keys:
- the C key to activate or deactivate collisions.
This allows us to walk through the levels crossing the walls.
- the T key to activate / deactivate the timer.
This allows you to practice playing without worrying about time.
- the G key to activate / deactivate gravity.
This is a first attempt to simplify the gameplay.
Some players were complaining about this gravity, now they can compare.
We continue to work on the project.
Titan is redoing all ingame graphics.
They will soon be integrated.
We don't want to "release a game"
we have fun fighting the frustration this game has caused
:)

Nice :-)
The way it was announced on Facebook was like "look, this is ne patched version, much better" - so I at least thought, this is a release - and was disappointed, as it was just "cheats active by default". If it's just work in progress to discover the game, I totally get the point why patches are activated by default and then it becomes a totally different story.
And as I already said: title screen and sound are already awesome.
I'm looking forward to progress as I think, this could be a great game, if done correctly.
info about project with new graphics soon available for download.

Why the game was released without the updated graphics, so? They discover or let you know that: "And yes, the ENTIRE graphics of the game are built ONLY on this simple tile board!!!"
It was just a way of announcing that we were working on it.
This is not a serious release.
Basically, I started this project to please DarkSteph and all those who regret that the airwolf game was so bad.
Then Titan and Ayor61 got into the projet, just for fun.
The first screen of Titan had the word "reloaded"; the disc then became airwolf reloaded.
This project is a journey based on friendship and sharing.
Not a skill competition or a search for recognition or validation.
We are investigating this disaster, having fun improving it to better measure the effort they missed.

OK, thank you for your answer. I was surprised that release "reloaded" was mainly a rework of the title screen. May be the today world is too much early to show something to peoples. Think that Internet not forgot, so you can be sure into 10 years that peoples continue to watch and download the not final version of your remake. :)
Have fun!
The new graphics look much better :D
@65c02 - Loving the fresh looking graphics. However, I did notice the Airwolf sprite seems a little narrower and kind of squashed compared to the original. Is that intentional?
Quote from: IndyUK on 20:38, 31 March 22However, I did notice the Airwolf sprite seems a little narrower and kind of squashed compared to the original. Is that intentional?
Yes
The game tests for collisions on every pixel. A smaller sprite should make playing a bit easier in those tight levels
Hmm, a version with support for MIDI while looking at the beautiful loading screen maybe for those happy to play MIDI on their Amstrad CPC, using the converter by https://twitter.com/LambdaMikel (https://twitter.com/LambdaMikel) ?
whoua, thanks.
You make me discover this project.
It's very impressive.
Indeed it would be great to have music of this quality.
I still have a lot of things to do before, but I will see how to integrate such music.
