I've been beta-testing for the devs, and it's a nice little adventure.  :D

The scanned images are good, with much improved quality over the ones in their previous titles ( although I liked those as well)

Bad timing, I guess ... or maybe only here in germoney.

Today I went playing Lasertag with my kids. I also thought about how this would feel for guys from Ukraine atm. And what happened there? There was a group of ukrainian kids and they really had so much fun together with my son...

Well it's a game based on historical facts. I'm sure you're aware the URRS/CCCP doesn't exist anymore. And it was being developed way before the war started.
I'm not going to say I support what Russia is doing in Ukraine, but neither believe the actual propaganda of good's and bad's, specially while we still keep buying gas to these evil russians. This is a game anyways and has nothing to do with the actual war.

As I am the creator, I need to clarify some things.

The idea for the game and the developing process started before the war. As i have also studied history, I like looking into historical events. You can learn many things about the siege of Leningrad here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01H3dq7y1Kg

This historical battle occurred 80 years ago, and the USSR does not exist from the 90s. So there is no need to connect the  historical event that the game refers to, to the current war now. This game is just a text adventure game and respects the sacrifize of those people 80 years ago. Thats all.

I dont want to involve my game in a discussion about current war. Of course I dont like war, as any person I believe, either it is Russian war or NATO war or EU war. The game refers to that specific era, a historical era, 80 years ago. And it tries to show some real historical details, as the need to pass the Ladoga lake, in order to act as an encouragement to look to history and learn new things.

Thx!

Well, as always it is very hard to put my sarcasm/actual dislike against journalism/potitics into few sentences. I sometime just get so upset I forget about that.

First: it's a nice game and I like every effort to bring new games to cpc.

Then: Guess I write an adventure about german wehrmacht having great success against another country during WW2 - would you still argue with "it's long gone" and "historie" in favour of it ? Maybe, but my experience here is not like that, so ... I do not like this two-sided behaviour, but it really may only be here in my country, so sorry if I map it on all of you.

Well, I'll try to keep my point of view to myself and those people that know what I am "ticking like" from now one, as hard as I can-

One comment then: The picture with the Russian solders raising the Soviet flag is from Berlin, not Leningrad. Since it is a very famous one, I was really surprised to see it in the context of the Leningrad battle.

But that's just a minor comment, and I wouldn't have brought it up, if you wouldn't have mentioned that history is somehow important to you. Great effort and good game.

Yeah we know is the iconic image when the soviet army took the Reischtag. But there was no better way to show a soviet victory or at least I didn't search so deeply.
If you make a search in google images for soviet victory, there are (were) lots of images much less adequate given the current situation (when I was making the graphics the conflict had already started). But hey with that resolution you can't really tell what's going on in the background :P

In it's day I enjoyed a lot the first game of the Call of Duty series. (later the franchise went downhill) It was possible to play as an U.S, English, and soviet soldier during the game. Being the soviet part the most interesting one in my opinion. I always missed a campaign from the point of view of the germans. But it makes sense since it would ruin the official simplistic tale of good's and bad's.
Another example: I'm not sure if you know a movie titled Stalingrad. In it the german soldiers are portrayed as human beings and not souless and brainwashed war machines. So personally yes, I'd like to see something like that. Because things aren't black and white only. There are lots of hues of grey in between.

Thank you!
You are right, but as @Brundij mentioned, it is not easy to find the right picture and convert it to Amstrad, choices are very limited. I would prefer to have a such picture of Leningrad battle too, but we could not find one, so we thought that this well known picture will add a feeling of victory. I agree with your comment.

Thank you!

Well i will try to analyze it a bit.

Each developer, game or movie or whatever, picks up a theme that interests him, want to show something, or a story that influenced him. And he has of course the full responsibility of choosing this story.

I chose that story for many reasons and of course I take full responsibility of choosing the soviet side. Anyone is welcome to judge this, and even though I wouldn't like much talking for politics in an Amstrad forum, this is understandable and of course a conversation of politics and history can arise. Tha same can happen if someone chooses a story from the German side, he can also be criticised, and a similar conversation can arise.

What i made clear is that the game has nothing to do with the current war.  Of course you can be critical of my choosing the soviet side, but thats something totally different.

Also, I have to mention that the soviets, especially in the 80s, are usually the <bad> ones in games and movies, due to the cold war politics. And usually the heroes of games/movies portaying WWII are americans or english, and not soviets.
