I have never played Ant Attack on the Spectrum, I don't know how well it compares? Seems to play well enough , although the controls seemed slightly laggy , if I was going to be picky .

Surprised that it is a 128k version? Wonder why it needs all that memory?

Because it emulates the Spectrum.

It hides a tiny little ZX within the top 64k. If you look closely you can discern its edges pushing through the seams.

I appreciate your humour.

Ant attack emulator only needs extra 16K to work.

The main reason is that the zx game use zx basic (16k rom  #0000-#3FFF)
and the whole 64k z80 memory space is used by zx game.

Zx spectrum display memory ( #4000-#5AFF) space is used to put cpc zx emulation engine.
16384 Bytes are needed for CPC display (256x192) and must be in main 64K memory as Gate Array
is unable to accessed extra banked memory.

It would have been possible to reduce this space to 12288 Bytes using
linear memory screen (256x192) by tweeking CRTC registers.
It's less efficient in term of CPU timing because next display line address calculation
is much more complicated.

Thanks to whoever managed this Spectrum emulator on the CPC it's absolute genius far as I'm concerned , and look forward to seeing some great games being played on the Amstrad , I wonder if Jet Pac is possible , I presume it is only going to be games that the are 16k that will be managed?
