Hello! I'm trying to recall a name of a maze game I had on Amstrad CPC 464. Point of the game was to move a smiley face along the lines to make them change color (not sure if i remember this correctly). It had really simple graphic.

No, I'm afraid that's not it. The game I'm looking for had simple, purely 2D graphics.
try the database there :
CPC-POWER, sauvegarde du patrimoine de l'Amstrad CPC (http://cpc-power.com/index.php?page=database)
you can choose game >> labyrinthe category... then "rechercher" (search).
But basically a fluffy "smiley face" making tiles to change colours... Skweek ?

That was the first thing I thought of ! I'm a big fan of the game too, although it could have been a little more refined

It was one of the first games I bought for my CPC 464 with my own money. It came from makro wholesalers in Charlton, London SE7. Lol, I'd have been 12 or 13 lol.

I guess it could also be achieved on a CGA IBM PC under MsDos... but then the palette and sounds would suck.

I'm just looking at the game again now , I think it has a lot of charm and had it been given a little more polish would be far more enjoyable , the biggest flaw in the game for me is how on some levels you have to work completely blinded , this could be manageable if there was a way of changing the perspective so you could view from another angle . Other than that your character controls well and features like the run/jump button help getting out of tough situations . I have only just become aware that you could adjust the chasers speed !? I always played it with them full throttle . Another nice feature, especially for a game that has such bastard level design is the 99 level select.
Hi Rise , definitely not a game that many people would like or give a damn about . For some reason I do though. Anyway I won't take this thread off on a tangent to far . Just couldn't help mentioning it .

Well in the writers case they were writing it in DOSBOX targeting a 8088 running at 4.77Mhz system with 256Kb. The game was being implemented somehow in low res CGA 40x25 text mode & applying some tricks to make it look like 80x50.
