other than finding how to change controls in a snap shot which doesn't help that much I'm still learning.

That's pretty much how it is for me, I don't know how to use the winape debugger, I do all my stuff in HEX, it's not easy this way, but as you can see from the list of games, I've done a fair few.  ;D

@remax I've had time to do another game today, this one is " Nemesis " I sorted out the trainer remapped the buttons and translated the text.
The game will Pause ok , and I've remapped select weapon to button 2 on the joypad.  :)

EgoTrip

Can someone do Super Gran? Or maybe Home Runner, or even Count Duckula 2?

seanb

@Phantomz
if you use snap shots how do you get a cpr from that after you made your changes

I use snaps to find changes, like before and after redefines etc.
I use snap to try and find stuff with a hex editor, then when I find something, I copy a block ending with what I want to change, then I look for that block in the disk or cpr I've made.  ;)

" Super Gran "

Was you serious with this list of games you wanted, I don't know about the other two, but this looks so bad  :laugh:

EgoTrip

No, I was being silly. They are the three worst commercial games on the CPC (imo).

Sorry you wasted your time, but thanks anyway :laugh:

Only took like 5 or 10 minutes, so no big deal  :laugh: Gave me more practice finding stuff so not all bad  ;)

Don't think we should add it to the list of games though  :laugh:

Maybe we should only request good stuff from now on, anyone going to do " Bridge It "  :laugh:

The list is getting pretty big.

Still when I see this "Use(d) PLUS features?" column full of "No"... I get a lot bit depressed... :(

that is because we are users and converters not coders. I am working on a couple that will have plus loading screens, but nothing more than that.

@remax

Cheers for adding that crap game to the list  :laugh: I've removed it now.

I'll check stuff out that people request in the future, or just do what I think  :laugh:

It does take sometime doing some games, lucky enough that crap only took like 5 minutes.  ;D

I'd rather spend my time doing good games that people want.  ;)

I don't know what every Amstrad game is like, I was a kid when I played most of them, but hopefully people will do real request from now on or convert the crap games themselves  :laugh:

I know of some bad games from back in the day like Out Run, and Bridge it etc  :o

Dizrythmia

Some of the games I really want are unconvertible.

Jack the Nipper would be great, but you can't emulate the 1 & 2 buttons, PLUS fire and pause.

I remember playing Future Knight from the AA covertape a lot when I was a kid, but I don't remember if we would run into the same problems

Into the Eagles Nest would be another great one! I used to love that game

Blues Bros from another AA covertape was a fun platformer

How about the Seymour games if the Dizzy games are manageable?

Are both of the Ninja Turtles games 128k only?

There are others but I'd have to have a think...

@Phantomz my request for
Batman (head over heels version)
Sweevos World
Movie

Was serious.

Part of me wished that someone was going to do Count Duckula 2.

I did " Into the Eagles Nest " but it gets stuck on the main screen at the start, can't press fire to start, the GX4000 doesn't like it, worked in winape emulation though.  >:(

With regards to  " Jack the Nipper " all controls can be remapped if they can be found, I can't find stuff if games are compressed.  :(

I pretty much knew you was serious as I've heard Batman (head over heals version) is good  ;)

I did have a look at " Head over heals " a little while back but couldn't find anything, I will check it out again soon, as I might have had a compressed version, also I might have been looking for proper HEX numbers
at the time and not keyboard numbers in HEX if you know what I mean.  ;)

I know, I figured as much  :laugh: But to be fair, how do I know if someone is being serious? I don't know what every game is like, I mean, I could see that " Super Gran " looked really bad, but then he might have really loved it as a kid, I don't know, people like weird stuff.  :laugh:

The shame should have been on the requestor, not the convertor  :P

Both TMNT games are 64k games - I had them both on tape on my 464 back in the day..

Yep.  I have them both on tape still to this day.

Though technically they are TMHT.   :)
Favorite CPC games: Count Duckula 3, Oh Mummy Returns, RoboCop Resurrection, Tankbusters Afterlife

That you will convert all the games for her in the next few minutes?   :P

It's not like there is much to do  :laugh:

Have you finished them yet?  :P

@remax

Anyway, I've done " Jack the Nipper "  I fixed the Trainer to make it GX4000 Friendly.

I also remapped the Buttons to:

Use GX4000 Pause Button to Pause

Joypad 1 Button 2 to Enter Doors.

Joyad 2 Button 1 and 2 for Pick Up / Drop

I've also done " Future Knight "

I remapped 0 to Start to the Fire Button, and the U for Use to Button 2 on the joypad.

I've also sorted out " Werewolves Of London " which I thought I had done before, as thought was joystick only.  ::)

I found out the controls are as follows :

Joystick or keyboard.

AMSTRAD
Z - LEFT  X - RIGHT  + - BACK  ? - FRONT
ESCAPE - Pauses Game
FIRE/SPACE - Pick up / swap / drop or use objects,
             or munch when a victim is close.
CURSOR ARROWS - To highlight icon / increase or decrease music volume.
LEAPING WEREWOLF ICON - + Fire to jump.
ESCAPE + DEL - Restarts Game.

I've remapped all of these to:

Controls
--------

Move with Joy1 Dpad, Joy1 Button 1 = Pick up / swap / drop or use objects, or munch when a victim is close.

Pause = Joy2 Button 1 (Pause is deblocked with GX4000 pause key)

Quit = Joy2 Button 2 ( Whilst Paused )

Increase or Decrease Music Volume = Joy2 Dpad Up and Down

To highlight icon = Joy2 Dpad Left and Right

LEAPING WEREWOLF ICON + Joy1 Button 1 to Jump

My small contributions : Boulder dash

- use joystick fire 2 in addition to RETURN to change control settings on tart screen
- use joystick fire 2 in addition to ESC to suicide during game
- use P in addition to SPACE to pause the game

Also, game will start with one player with joystick instead of keyboard on official version

Tested on GX4000

And the coin op are compressed or uses two face of disc, that made it incompatible with arnlod cartridge conversion program. So its discarted time ago.

I was sure the coin op was 128k as well.

If size is the only problem, then like turrican, once we have the parados formats working on @arnoldemu s tool then this one shoudl be doable too.

I'll dig around on my 3 inch discs to see if I can make a single sided version from my cracked copy of the game.
