I love the the girl on the main menu and more over on the visual of the box  ;D  Sort of :
- Hey guys, a brick breaker in 1989, are you sure that players will be interested?
- Don't worry, we put a nude girl with big boobs on the box, just to be sure  :P

Looks like a bit of a mess to be honest though it also looks quite playable:

Can't find a pic of the box though :D

iXien

@Gryzor Enjoy  :laugh:

And on the rear of the box, they even name Arkanoid, clearly to associate their own title to the famous Taito game, Fabulous! Hey guys, no problem with copyrights ? It was really another era  8)

Daaamn :D I doubt 13yo me would have bought it on the merits of the cover alone, even so!

Well, it's not so much a copyright issue I think, they don't say it's related in any way but then again they did risk a lawsuit...

Same as the ZX one, cannot see the racket well.

Same as the ZX one

Ahh that's where the clashing comes from :D Thought it looks like a decent port.

GUNHED

They use 3(!) colors on the play screen. Would it have been so hard to pain the racket in color 4???
And then they complaint 'pirate copies'. Sorry, wasting money once for such a port is more than enough.
Otherwise, with some minor changes it could have been a great game.

Yes, a decent port of a game that already failed on Spectrum with this curious idea to create a background line of the same colour of the racket while the rest of the background uses a different color and while another color was available  :laugh:

Yes, you're right. Lot of little games were developed sometimes by very young guys, so a lot of flaws in these low cost games are pardonable imo. It's interesting to discover always more about this era during which we grew up. Game development and publishing were so wild and disorganized, how touching  ;D

I recently had the opportunity to discuss with the developer of the CPC version of Psycho Pig UXB that let a comment on a Youtube video, it was very interesting :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpfcKR_x7lE

Interesting to see how we idealized this video game universe as we were all kids while developers and even publishers were working hard without a lot of organization, considering game development just as a job, usually a frustrating job  8)

VincentGR

I think it's not possible to use two different colors on ZX which only has... two.
Ok, you can clash but the color brick will probably try to catch up with the racket and this would end up with two rackets scrolling on top of each other ;D

Off-topic mode off.

@Phantomz
Thank you!, i had no time this week to try the games sooner, you did an awesome work, specially with Buitre - Emilio Butragueno Futbol menu.

@iXien @Gryzor
The Brick is pretty playable, the color schematics change through the stages, for better, (minus the bar that that share its color with the screw, like VincentGR said) also, i had it as a part of a games compilation, so no cover lady for me XD.

Nostalgia is our engine! The idea was of course not to spoil you childhood memories  ;)  We played so many games on our beloved CPC, as we were children we loved lot of title that were not the best ones. But we spent good time on them, so it is a good reason to be able to play them nowadays on GX-4000.
Back in the good old days, I used to play a lot on SOUL OF A ROBOT. I really loved this game. Honestly, I know it's not a very good game and I suppose that nobody would really like it trying it for the first time nowadays but I would love to play it on my GX-4000. Childhood memory  8)

The brick  seems to be an interesting game but clearly, it's sometimes a little bit difficult to see the racket. When you discover the game nowadays, it's difficult to be hooked. But yes, we saw really worse on CPC, thank you @Phantomz @Davor Vitief for this little game I didn't know  :)

Apologies if this game has already been done, but I remember playing 'Buster block' as a kid, it's pretty much the best Pengo clone we had on the Amstrad CPC. From the same guy who did Fruity Frank, and just as playable in a Pengo sort of way.

Thx

You've made my very long day... Thank you so much! I love this game.

iXien

Late at night (not so late in fact), I'm taking time to get out of its box one of the games I used to play on my 6128, GEEBEE AIR RALLY. Not the game of the year, but it's of course a nice childhood memory. And I was sure it has already been converted to GX-4000, but no. Would it be difficult to convert this one ?

I prepared a clean version (original music replay bug fixed). Keys have to be patched of course but I think we can enter our name in the high-score table directly using joypad  ;D

I'll see what I can do with " GeeBee " when get some time, looks like it's the same as " Rambo ", pause doesn't work properly by the looks of things.
