Need to get some advice from someone here?

As a Mac user, i'm limited (unless I could be bothered using a virtual machine) in which emulator. So using Arnold for Mac while trying to platy TSAM.

So Rob the coin dealers, get all the swag, but it hangs when it asks me insert the game disk. Doesn't matter how many times i reload the disk, it just sits there.

Any ideas?
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

MacDeath

You should have got a PCW instead of a Macintosh...  :P

dlfrsilver

hi Shaun, there are many releases on CPC-power, which version are you using ?

My dump ? Or a cracked version ?

Shaun M. Neary

Ah MacDeath, how I missed you...

dlfrsilver: Got it off unit.no, fileid tells me this:

Joke appart, can't modern Macs run windows too ?

What model is this ?
Macintosh 128 ? (oops joking again)

don't know how to understand this statement... ;D especially out of context.

Macs can run windows via bootcamp or a virtual machine, but why would I buy a Rolls Royce just to put a Skoda engine in it? ;)

Basically there are few options when it comes to emulators that run on Mac natively.
That said, the dump I got from CPC Power works perfectly, so thanks again dlfrsilver. :)

You may try with MacCPC and CPC++.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't think MacCPC has gamepad support, and CPC++is fairly out of date and I'm not so sure will run on modern OS X due to Apple removing PPC architecture from their operating systems a couple of years back

MacCPC had a Joystick tab option on its settings... But, yes, it's blank.  :-\
Have you tested it with a gamepad ? (I may try with an xbox 360 controller to see)

About CPC++, it's always work in progress and it's FDC emulation is the best as it support original protected DSK!!!
You have probably not tried the good link as the last version was released 2 weeks ago : CPC++ b664.app.zip
But, sure... I have not tested Joystick with it too.  ;D

I recently had to check over my Mac Book Air and it looked identical in terms of components inside to my Assus laptop.

As an experiament installed OSX on my Asus give or take a few driver tweaks no issues ran fine.

As part of my job I work on macs daily and know how they fail and how to fix them.

This is just an opinion the last time Apple made a really stand out machine was about 15 years ago, as in really outpaced anything else.

They're still producing top notch machines in my opinion. My 13" MacBook Pro is 3 years old, and the only thing that has ever needed replacing was a SATA ribbon cable that warped from the heat. I've yet to have a Dell or a HP that has lasted that long for the amount that I use it.

OSX is also much nicer at maintaining itself than Windows ever could be. Plus i could install it on my self built desktops. :D

My no-name Chinese netbook is now 4 years old and still going very strong, bringing my sis online. On the other hand, I've never seen a heat-warped ribbon cable, even in laptops from the nineties :D

Minor design flaw... took 5 minutes to replace and was back up and running again.
My netbook still works serving it's purpose it's served for the past three years... a door stop!

Doesn't sound too minor to me, and wouldn't take 5 minutes for everyone...

I self build my desktops so know exactly what is them, that's why I took the MBA apart so I knew what was in it.

I have not had any major problems with Windows 7  and snow Leapord, Mountain Lion and Mavericks no end of headaches.

Windows 8 and 8.1 you will have to bribe me to use.

Mountain Lion was fine. Lion was a fucking abortion of an OS, sarcastically known worldwide as OSX Vista. Mavericks is fine once on 10.9.1

Now let's look at Windows history over the years, or do we have enough characters? :D

The bloke who made Bonzo super meddler did a GUI for the CPC, I had it and cannot recall what it is called now.

it was similar to GEM.

here we are

Desktop Environment System - CPCWiki

robcfg

I think you mean a GUI (Graphical User Interface) and not GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)...

Gryzor

I remember using  a desktop GUI on my 6128 back in the day; totally useless of course, but I was mesmerised. I think I'll chuck DES into a couple of ROMs now :)

Are the DES apps described in the wiki article available?
