Best Flight Sim recommendations on the CPC?

yeah, had it on tape/464 during my very young age... and guess what, I forgot the music actually...


Fighter Bomber can seem slow from today perspective (and even at the time for me who had it on a EGA coloured AT at 12mhz PC...)
But really, impressive plain faces 3D with lots of view options...

Guess Combat Lynx doesn't make the grade?    I've played that, but haven't played the others.

Video of it here complete with Swearing. It's been ages since I've played it, and I seem to be doing what the guy in the video was doing and just cruising around, there are different difficulty levels though, so I would of been on the Easiest. I don't think there was any Joystick control as the game has a number of options for flying your helicopter. Age wise it was written in 1985, it may not be the fastest Flight Sim around, but was still playable.

Thanks for the link , but unfortunately I remember seeing it and didn't learn anything more than I already knew, Not moaning at the vid though cos he makes no claim to be giving a demonstration of the game. 
I think the area of demo-ing more complex games is niche that needs to be filled on You Tube.

Didn't Combat Lynx have an option for double joystick control? I'm sure I recall tht being an option. Really quite unique if it was considering it's age too

Gunship for me as well, but I seem to remember ploughing hours into ATF!

Doesn't say anything about Double Joystick Control, just looking at the Playing Instructions for the Amstrad it only mentions Arrow Keys for Up Down Left Right, depending on what mode your in depends on the keys pressed so for:


In Flight:
Copy - Move Faster
Del - Move Slower
Arrow Keys - Up Down Left or Right


The Map:
M - Map (on/off)
Arrow Keys - Up Down Left or Right
Space - Map Moves Faster


Arming the Lynx:
Land at Base - Start Loading
+ - Increase Load
- - Decrease Load
Enter - Select Weapon
Space - End Loading


Firing Weapons Systems:
X and Z - Choose Weapon
Space - Fire
Arrow Keys - Sights Up Down Left or Right

1 to 6

Just looked it up on cpc power , and the instructions state that two joysticks are an option, the only game I know that does this on the cpc

Well I cannot argue with that, but what I posted earlier was the controls given from Budget version edition of Combat Lynx which was distributed by Encore.

The budget releases really used to screw you over with the lack of instructions, Captain Blood was a waste of time? Didnt teach you anything

I never played any flight sims on the CPC. I did love (REALLY love) Fighter Bomber on my 1040STFM, but I didn't remember the CPC version looked so cool! yeah, low frame rate of course, but...
