So unlike other "best game" threads I want to know those games that you really like but you probably shouldn't because the game might not be as good as some of those really great games or the game might actually be awful but you like it anyway.

So my list that I can think of would have to be:
Roland on the Ropes
Caves of Doom

I know quite well that they aren't great looking games and theres some flicker in RotR but I still really enjoy playing them. Heh RotR must be played on green screen only, colour is just wrong for a true experience. I also find Caves of Doom too hard for me to ever finish without cheating but since when does that stop me liking a game.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who has games like this right? I can't possibly be a crazy person who likes games from 1984 right?????

ralferoo

A lot of the early Amsoft games because they hold early memories... Oh Mummy, Sultan's Maze, Harrier Attack, etc. Used to play them for hours. RotR was definitely good, enjoyed that a lot as a kid.

trocoloco

as rafelroo says many amsoft games could be included here and i can remember well Almirant graff spee and Crazy Golf. Also i gotta add Mario bros wich it wasn't great technically but i liked and played a lot, i still have on my head that awful bell sound everytime mario was running around the stage , that sound can become anyone crazy

Xyphoe

Mountie Mick's Death Ride!
Roland On The Ropes
Green Beret
A View To A Kill

Mario Bros does have a quite good 2-player game as well. As both players are playing at the same time in the small limited area and they go "bump" if they touch each other, you are forced to do proper teamwork to survive.

Ye ar Kung Fu 2 .. again a pretty enjoyable and quite different 2 player game. You might think it would be a off-balanced first with the melee vs ranged and the strength difference, but it kinda evens out all in all. Too bad about the massive bugs.

Green Beret .. back when we was still afraid of the evil russians. The game does have some nice big colourfull sprites that do look russian too. Scrooling may have been "bad", but other games used the same scroll so it it felt kinda normal.

Zorro .. way to slow and quite a few smaller annoing bugs. Puzzles was ok but it didnt help that some parts was like 8x repeated again and again.

Gryzor

Speed King?

Oh Mummy was actually a pretty nice game. Didn't play it at the time, but gave it a go a couple of years ago; very simple, but addictive and sweet!

I quite liked Bridge-IT back in the day, really colourful game that slowly built up a good challenge, I know I shouldn't like it but there u go. Harrier attack was where I learned full combat flight training, before jumping into the now famous R9 fighter ;-) Sho-Lins road is another CPC game that I hate to like, but as a kid I couldn't get enough of it.
