Assuming your .bas file is "xxx.bas", just type run"xxx.bas".

We really should compile a beginner's how-to and pin it somewhere...

Oh, and welcome :)

Hmmm. Do we have a scan of the CPCs handbook?

@TFM: well, yes, on the wiki, but you don't really expect newcomers to start reading computer manuals just to launch their favorite game?

@Jimmie: glad I could help, any more questions, don't hesitate!

Absolutely right! Especially since most of the computers handbook do not deal with "basic things" in general.
But in the case of the CPC we have the lucky situation, the our beloved computer comes with an excellent handbook, and it does really start at the beginning an explains all step by step. IMO it's a good thing for people to look at it, if they find the way to the CPC.

Fair enough, indeed the CPC manual was something else!

However, for someone wanting to load the game he remembers from 20 years ago and have a quick blast, the manual is *too* much. See how short my answer above was!

This reminded me of the thread I had opened about resurrecting the official FAQ. Nothing came out of it... :(
