High Score Challenge - 4 Weekly ?

Hi Guys and Gals

I am not sure if I missed the thread but does the forum have a High Score League?

I know on Lemon 64/Amiga and Stardot to name a couple have a high score challenge every four weeks.

Just wondering if anyone thought this was a good idea and if it was something we could arrange between ourselves ?

I know there's been high score challenges before in various games, where participants would post screenshots of their high score.

I haven't been part of it myself yet, probably won't be in the future either (since I'm mostly just into the nostalgia), but I'm sure there are plenty of people here who thinks it's a great idea.

I voted Maybe, but you really need an "I don't really care either way" option. As a complete non-gamer (due to lack of talent) I've no interest in it, but I have nothing against it

Obvious we would need to draw up rules of competition and take screen grabs/screen shots of our highest scores.

And if peeps want to cheat in a compo which is just a bit of fun is quite sad

~Not really. I know WinAPE's session record feature stops recording if you use snapshots, so requiring that as evidence, would solve the issue of using snapshots.


And besides, what type of moron would cheat in a contest like this which would be purely for fun?

just loaded up super sprint and champ sprint had a play for about 30mins using winape ahh the memories..........

have a go at the 1st track of each game and see what your best lap time is?

mine are not great times and not great driving im sure must get myself a real cpc stick instead of using this xbox 360 controller....

best lap on track 1 champ sprint was 88 and
best lap on track 1 super sprint was 77

so what i just played it for 1st time in 20 years........

go and have a crack at it - one of the easiest car games to play !!!

I remember it being a right pain^^^^.I'm not a fan of super sprint or any of the incarnations on the Amstrad . Will see if I can get some laps in though.

what are you using a real cpc or emulator ?

i found that if i did a complete reboot of cpcgames cd  and had my xbox 360 usb controller inserted from the the reboot it was fine and many laps of racing were enjoyed !!!

just so u know i was one of the 2 who voted NO

it is rather silly as an idea - yes i know we wanna rule the cpc world with our highscores etc etc and it would be fun etc etc

i would much rather see something like what Devilmarkus has on his javacpc website where there are a number of different games you can play and the highscores are posted.

or theres a page people can submit their .sna files and screen pictures and its an open entity no time frames and no bias towards any particular game

you just play what you want and post the .sna file and if anyone wants to have a go at beating it they can simply post their .sna file for all to see.....

i had a go no problems...

its just Q and A for Left and Right and S for Fire which is Acceleration

i dont like keys much but it was really good for the corners.....
