... I seemed to miss this first time around. Is there ANY CHANCE someone could translate it into Anglish? Us Angles and Anglish speaking peeps would like to play this without spending HOURS typing text into Google Translate (and yes, I'm too Anglified to learn the noble Spanish tongue).

And before anyone says it; yes, I am not a number... I am a free 'nam!

TotO

It's the recurring problem of spanish games...  :(

MacDeath

sorry I fail at declensions.

But nice to see you obviously don't speak greek nor italian. ;)

Bryce

No. I understand a bit of Italian, but I haven't the first clue about Greek :D

Bryce.

Gryzor

I'm tempted to try a few well-known idioms, but I'll let it pass :D

What bothers me is we still manage to miss games released today... :(

Come on guys, don't complain so much. Now you can experience first hand the feelings of an spanish kid in the 80's playing a game that is not translated to spanish  ;D

Or a Greek boy in the 80s playing an English game. However, that's how I learned English; too little time and patience to learn another language from games now!

TFM

Or a German boy ... wait! Our who the heck needs a language in an Arcade if you make it to the fire button.  :P 8) ;) :)

Some people have requested an english version of "La Guerra de Gamber"...

TFM

I volunteer for a English to German translation. [nb]However the last game I translated is still not released in English or German. All the work in vain. I should have used the time to make a better game by myself.[/nb]

There is not going to be an english version in the near future, the game code and data use all the memory avalaible to be able to run on 64k and changing the language is not easy at all (I've been told).

And heck, it's a goddamned shooter!

But it would be VERY easy to replace the text in the source. - If there would be good will - But maybe they are pissed off because a lot of stuff from France get released in French only too.

Nah, we only get pissed every time that someone says "well, it's a spanish game"

And with the terrible reviews on retrogamer (a small box on a sidebar with one paragraph of text and one screenshot) ...if they even bother to make a review of the game.

TFM

Hey, if it is not for c64, then it will get smited anyway.  >:(

BTW: I like Spanish, it's a cool language and I can read it a bit (and course of course ;-)).

If you're talking about La guerra de gamber, then there doesn't seem much text to translate (but I've not actually downloaded it yet, just watched a bit on youtube) - from what I can tell just the intro text screen and the end text screen. But then again, there's not really any point to translate it. Even if you don't understand it, it adds to the charm of the game and really you don't need to know anything other than "bad guys are doing stuff, go and make it better" and "you saved the day".

If you're talking about El prisionero, then it'd be crazy to translate the game. Far better to make a game along a similar plot from scratch in English.

I've not seen the review you're talking about and I know even know what game you're talking about, but that's pretty sad if it's for La guerra, as it looks fun to play. I wouldn't be at all surprised for an English magazine to be completely disinterested in a Spanish text adventure though.

McKlain

We launched the game just a few days ago, I don't expect it to show on retrogamer anytime soon.

Gryzor

Indeed, no point int translating Gamber, it's not like you can't play it. I wouldn't bother :)

Btw, is there a physical release forthcoming?

Yes, but that's all that I can say. No dates yet.

TFM

It's a pity that some Spanish users have a "problem" with games and languages. I did read what f. e. "6128" pointed out about Cyber Chicken in the Spanish forum[nb]I would comment, but my account doesn't work.[/nb]. He is not interested because it's from "Northern Europe", that means we're the bad guys and hate Spanish games.... and therefore Spanish games will never be English.

I'm sure that the majority of the Spanish users is more relaxed and see the big picture.

Of course Retro Gamer and who the heck knows don't treat Spanish games with the respect they would deserve, but this happens to other games too - when released for the CPC.

I really wished that at least the CPC scene grows together and can overcome this problems.

BTW: I released my CC in English, even if there is a German version too. [nb]Email me for it, if you like it in German.[/nb]
