Hi to all,
I am currently developing a text adventure called The Queen's Footsteps.

I prepared versions for many different computers and I decided that the CPC version is now a release candidate.

It can be freely downloaded here: http://davbucci.chez-alice.fr/index.php?argument=varie/queen/queen.inc&language=English

The game takes place in Genoa and Turin, two Italian cities, at the beginning of the XXth century, in a sort of mix between Art Nouveau (hence the Mucha's splash screen) and Steampunk.

I tried my best, but since I am not an expert of CPC development, I'd be very happy to receive some feedback!

Playing it now, it seems well written!
An expanding array of hardware available at www.cpcstore.co.uk (and issue 4 of CPC Fanzine!)

Gryzor

The loading screen is really lovely - saw it on Twitter the other day.

Wish I had time to play a text adventure... :(

I´ll give it a shot after finishing "Unhallowed" 8)

DarwinNE

Thank you very much! I hope you'll enjoy it!

I like the historical scenario - very intriguing!

Thank you, dthrone!
I had a great fun writing the story. About a year ago, a friend gave me a tourist guide of the Nortern Italy, dating back from 1904. I used it as an inspiration for descriptions of Genoa and Turin. The game is not strictly historical though, as I took a certain degree of freedom on some details.

Here is a page about the game background, it contains spoilers so you can unlock the different paragraphs with the passwords given at the end of the different parts of the game: http://davbucci.chez-alice.fr/index.php?argument=varie/queen/background.inc

Thanks for the extra info, I'm looking forward to giving it a try!
