Just kidding man, it's totally ok :D

I was wondering once though, if anyone would be interested in a CPC oriented "discmag" for cellphones.
We can make a poll about that if you think it's a good idea.

Everything would be about the CPC and CPC related stuff, but it wouldn't run on a CPC, just a cellphone. So you'd carry your discmag with you to spend time with it when bored on the train or bus or whatever.

Such a discmag can easily be made using simple HTML, or if you like a challenge; Flash Lite or J2ME.
All 3 techniques allows for including music and graphics, setting up colors and font-sizes - and can also run on a PC.

Anyway, I'm appointing Gryzor to create a thread/poll about this if he thinks it's a good idea.
Now back to topic.  :)

When did I release Death Chase, Frogger or Pacman?

We can narrow it down a bit at least.
Frogger was added to the NVG FTP site at 17th November 2008.
Pacman was added to the NVG FTP site at 16th December 2009.
Death Chase doesn't seem to be on the NVG FTP site.

Deathchase is available on NVG. Note that it's one word, not two.

As for the other games, the upload date only records the *most recent* uploaded version of the game, not the *first* time it was uploaded. A look at the source code in the Frogger ZIP file shows that the source code was last edited on 28/07/2007. The source code for Acornsoft Pacman was last edited on 18/08/2008, but the version currently on NVG is the one that works on CPC464 machines.

There are a couple of other games that can be added to the list:

  • Le Crime du Parking - Tom et Jerry's conversion of the Apple II game. I think this was released just before Christmas 2008. I have linked to the CPC-POWER page because it's not on NVG! :o
  • Sewer Rat - first announced on the CPCWiki forum on 16/06/2009.

An absolute great game, a lot of fun, but it took me a millinon years to get one of this Commando codes. However I found it then in the net... years later. I'm still waiting for the promised second part >:-)

http://gilou82.free.fr/Amstrad/Al-Qamia_v10.zip

L'histoire :

Now back to topic.  :)

I'd be greatly interested in one... I remember in older days (ca.2005 that is) there used to be "disk" mags for the PSP (maybe they're still going on?", and these were just JPGs that you could read on the screen. It worked surprisingly well...

Of course with mobiles it's harder because you have to take account lots of different resolutions, but still it'd be really nice!
