We're so happy to have this game so nobody would complain if it'd require 16gb of RAM either  :P

May be I'm wrong, but I can imagine this kind of game on a 512K cartridge, only require 64K RAM. So, what you are loading from the floppy disc to the RAM is more or less the same.

It probably can be done but then you are limiting your audience to those who can use cartridges with their CPC. That is just a small subset of users.

Of course, there is a balance between CPC and GX4000 players. My answer was rather that it is a common memory requirement related to the game storage.

Possible if the extra ram is being used like a read only storage which has been filled to save loading time. From it's current form it would need some functions re-writing to use rom paging vs the ram paging and perhaps some data re-arrangement and I would say best for the developers but only if they wished to do so.

What you suggest is certainly worthy of a programming example (not sure if I did one already that shows similar to this).

Does anybody know what is happening on itch.io ?

After receiving my RAM expansion from PulkoMandy today I thought of buying this game but looks like itch.io is down ?

SymbOS
Aahhh, of course... I forgot all about SymbOS as I've never used it properly - although perhaps that should be one of the many things on my "to-do" list for 2025.

Really enjoyed playing this, reviewed it for Retro Gamer

Quick question regarding the RAM requirements:

Does this game require 576K in total or are 512K in total sufficient? I wonder if any of the expansions that provide C3 support and therefore use 64K for shadowing will work with the game or if they need to be switched into non-C3 mode.

btw: I guess C3 is not required, right?

I asked GGP this question and I was informed that Mighty Steel Fighters requires a total of 576KB of RAM (64KB base RAM + 512KB additional RAM).
