Unpopular opinion (from me? Shocker!)

But it was more a teaser rather than a trailer. Trailers tend to give a release date. We're still none the wiser.

Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing but we're becoming the laughing stock of the 8bit community with prolonged delayed releases sadly. :(

When Bitplane are taking jabs at the delays of other releases in their games, despite the irony, you know it's getting bad.
(If you know, you know)
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

According to what they have told me, there is no release date yet, now they are going to work with the cartridge where the game will be recorded, which will be a Dandanator or DES

Which is understandable as putting all of that onto discs and RAM will be painful.

Amazing release! I especially love the overlaid music which has absolutely nothing to do with how the AY sounds and ofcourse all the AI generated content, like the image of Chun Li! I do sincerely hope the six fingers and the giant acorn are actual features that will be taking the fighting to levels unseen before on 8bit machines!

I will, however, make a suggestion that in my opinion will take the value of your releases even higher. You MUST come up with a naming scheme that exudes consistency.

Here's a few examples for the sequel to Final Trailer: Final Trailer II to VII, and from that point on Before Crisis Final Trailer VII, Crisis Core Final Trailer VII, Final Trailer VII Reunion, and then if you absolutely have to re-publish Final Trailer, name it either Final Trailer Remake or Final Trailer Rebirth.

Hope these will come handy in the next 3-4 years of the development of Final Trailer.

Oh! And if I get to have another suggestion, since BG have been pixelling a hell of a lot of cars lately, perhaps they could loan you some to wreck in bonus stages!

Keep up the solid work! :D

Dude, there's somebody in the comments literally congratulating GGP for the trailer. I mean, this is growing to Monty Python level of comedy content!

One of the few advantages of reaching 2040 is that many retro fans will retire, which will give them an additional precious time to play... and to develop!

The problem with many of these trailers is that these guys are doing it mostly as a hobby... but they're not millionaires and still need to go to work (sadly).  ;D

So I keep hoping that Vespertino (5 years of development) and Mighty Street Fighter (3 years of development) are released.

But since we're spicing up the topic with healthy and fun criticism, my main objection would be not using the original CPC hardware...

Leave the Dandanator nonsense and fit those bytes into 64kb!

I also wonder if releasing trailers for games that have been in development for several years on April 1st is the best approach.  ???

Yes, I understand that. I seriously hope they keep finding time to do what they love, making trailers.  :D

I think it's fine until they reach an Amico-level of all-hype-zero-delivery.

And I was a fan of the Amico! But not only they asked for a $100 (refundable) preorder... At one point they sold games for a console that was not released yet (and still hasn't released).

At least I got my refund.

No, it wouldn't be fair. Trolling and irony, however valid, is one thing. Comparing to ripping people off situations is on another level. GGP and similar people are claiming our attention, not a few bucks.

There is a story behind a C64 game called Unknown Realm which had a kickstarted campaign and went with ripping people off. The sum of cash was pretty big. You may read the drama at lemon64 if you are curious.

I do get that, but I'm not sure hyping people up for something a long way off makes an awful lot of sense. After a while that hype wears thin and if you finally release, people end up kind of underwhelmed because you can never really match up with all the expectations.

This looks great, it may just be a fighting game I'll actually play!

It's great seeing it in motion, the chibi characters really work.
Can't wait!
