Partial walk-thru of the 1988 Activision post apocalyptic text adventure set in the city of Southampton. In fact the mode 2 digitised graphics were sourced from photos & video taken in that city.
This feels more open-ended than most of the text adventures I've looked at so far and has a definite threat element which adds
to the game atmosphere. I also liked the control icons (shown at 0:52) which can be accessed at any time - a very nice touch!
As usual I don't last too long.

Not emulated - original hardware and software.
Please note that the aspect ratio for this YouTube video is 16:9 but the CPC monitor has an aspect ratio of 4:3 so you may wish to adjust your viewing device accordingly.
This looks interesting. Pity they didn't go for mode 2 with the text window!
Mode 1 works for me but yes with mode 2 more text could have been displayed on the screen.
If you're interested, the original novel which accompanied the game is available on Amazon for a mere £61.10 + £3.77 P&P :o
Or you can just read it here...

With all the LCDs an emulation today, we sometimes forget how awful mode 2 was on a CTM. Mode 2 is fine on a GT65 but on a CTM it's painful.
Well I grew up with a GT65, the CTM being but a distant dream for me back in the day, so I don't care about you, you posh kids.

I used both and as long as good colour choice was made on the CTM I never had a problem.

For word processing - white text/black background or orange text/black background.
