According to CPC Power, some games could be missing.

Nice to see my country leading the Amstrad CPC game scene, at least in quantity (I confess I rarely play Spanish games).

Nice competition with France, too.

I see room for improvement for the UK, but I suspect the C64 and Speccy are to blame.

Some interesting surprises too, like 2 games from a Japanese guy.

Total games released (according to CPC Power, some may be missing):

Spain24
France16
UK11
Italy2
Greece2
Japan2
Australia1
Sweden1
Latvia1

(Please note I assume one developer is from Latvia because he included a Latvian folk song in his very first game!)

Let's keep up the momentum until 2050!

Technically, it's country, not language.

But in some cases I just assumed "UK" because some guy had an English first and last name. And I confess I also assumed this when no information was available and all text in their websites was in English (I was about to classify one game as "UK", and then bang! a Latvian folk song in another title from same guy).

I basically opened a tab for each game in CPC Power released in 2024 and did some research about the authors of the game.

No contributions from Germany? Well, the truth is the last entry in the German "spiel" section is from 2023. But it looks strange anyway, I'm sure there must be some contribution at least as artist or musician. And for sure they have been very active in the Demo scene.

I checked CPC-Power recently to search for "homebrew" games in order to fill my Amsteam homebrew section, and only 21 games are tagged as homebrew. And many games are _PUBLIC_DOMAIN_ when they have well known creators. So it looks CPC-Power needs some work to be a source of truth :D

How do you count games involving people from different countries?

When I see how full of cars streets around here usually are, I guess our fellow Germans are busy driving around in their beloved cars, because: Car > CPC .
** My website ** Some music

My hardware: ** Schneider CPC 464 with colour screen, 64k extension, 3" and 5,25 drives and more ** Amstrad CPC 6128 with M4 board, GreaseWeazle.

Yeah, I found games with contributors from several countries, so I added those as from the country of the main designer/programmer. I should have added an "international" category, but the interesting thing was the big numbers.

There could be multiple little errors in the 1-hour research I made, including missing games from CPC Power, developers from country X (like Germany) who simply use an enigmatic nickname and a website in English, developers who had a clearly Italian name but are actually French... (Italy has 2 titles because the author had an Italian name, but that was not enough for me so I confirmed his clearly Italian accent on Youtube).

I find the Spanish and French connection a very interesting and refreshing aspect of Amstrad CPC game library, both classic and modern.

Two games from the US developed by @prevtenet ( Solitaire and Sudoku ) were also released in 2024. Since they are SymbOS apps and therefore also run on other platforms at the same time, it is probably a philosophical question whether they are considered a "CPC game" or not.
