well actually, these screenshots are rather ugly, because directly taken from the emulator. The game looks *really* better on hardware.

It always does... CRT monitors FTW!

I recently (after my move) finished rebuilding an Arcade cabinet with an original Hantarex CRT monitor, it looks sooooooo much better than TFT screens...

Despite the screenshots being from an emulator, I still think it looks amazing.  I look forward to playing the English translated version when it's released.  It certainly has all the qualities of a great game.  Well done to everyone invovled.  If everything goes well, it might even appear on as the cover feature in an upcoming issue of Retroaction.

I also want it, when the german version is available.  8)
Herewith I cancel my order of 'Orion Prime'.
Because of private reasons, I don't need it any longer.

Hi all,

Orion Prime (french version) is now available as a DSK ! You can get it here :
http://www.orion.cpcscene.com

You'll find an archive including both 3" and 3,5" versions, as well as the manual.

Of course, if you don't understand French, you might miss all the fun, so we advise you to run it, test it and write us to tell us how much you want to play the game in a language you can understand :).

Don't worry, English, Spanish and German are being developed, and for now all is going very smoothly.

Thanks and see you soon,
Targhan/Arkos.

Just tried the french version on my real CPC. This is truly amazing! Can't wait for the german (or english) version. Unfortunately 5 years of french in school were not good enough for this. ;-)

Yeah, my french is also not good enought to understand everything. Hope Poliander has enought time to translate the text into german quick.
However, better to wait a little longer and we get the very best german "lyrics" for the game.

I'm only able to play it on an emulator. Orion Prime is really very impressive. No commerctial game is as good. Compliments to all guys who take part in the developpment of this superbe game!!!

I will definitely by the german boxed version!

Well, it took me nine months to translate all of the text (although I did most of my translation during weekends), so you will probably have to wait a long time! :-\

mr_lou

We finally saw the demo yesterday. Required me to install WinXP in order to be able to write the dsk, which is why I'm a bit late seeing it. There are no tools for Linux that can do this yet, and a game like this deserves a real CPC. :-/

But wow, Orion Prime looks really great! Truely an amazing piece of work. Having 4 dsk files on one 3.5" disk is very neat, and I really like the loading-while-playing-music thingy too. :-)
The amazing graphics and groovy music combined gives the game a lot of atmosphere. Looking very much forward to the english translation.

(The demo was loaded on a CPC464 with 128k, everything runs fine except the CAT function which seems to always only allow about 10 characters pr. line for some reason on the CPC464. But groovy terminal! :->).

Gryzor

Yes, the terminal on 'cat' is the best implementation (by far) that I ever saw... :)

Well, since I know how much text it is, it would take me six weeks (not more). In this case I would consider myself working every day. I got enough experience in tranlations. And to translate into the own mother language is always much easier than the opposite way.
However I'm glad that Tarhan has choosen Poliander (and not me) for the translation, so the game play will be more interresting for me. I can't do much with the french version :-(
I really hope that a german version will be released!!!

Why bothering foreign versions...
We are the french, the nation that bought Amstrad CPC as his number one 8 bit computer...

You british scums with your speccy...
you japanese with your MSX, you american with your Atari 8 bit and C64...
You russians and your ZX speccy clones.
You spanish and your CPC464 (couldn't you get a proper 6128 like every sploiled french bastard ?)
You Italianos and your OLVETTIs...lol...
You greek and your..what ?

You Deutsches and yours..well okay, Schneiders ? was ist das ?

French editors rarely did Speccy ports !!!
Spain editors too...

so the only foreign version shall be spanish !!!

Bu...but wait... Ocean was a british editor ? oh shi

(okay okay, just kidding, come on, French humour, is it so hard to understand ?)

Any news for an internationnal version ? I mean, at least English then ?

How does it works, do some scener from each country contribute ?

More seriously, I have to admit one friend of mine was even impressed by the fact a good old 8 bit system could actually do that.
The Intro, the 3"1/2 version and so on...
To bad old games didn't feature "modern interface"...

The speccy scene alway laugh at us because we can't get speccy ports running well...but I wonder if a speccy can stand a CPC port of Orion Prime.

Devilmarkus

Perhaps a version in Esperanto would be perfect... :D

woody.cool

Yesterday, I went to RCM Open Day in Swannington.
My mate, AndyT brought his CPC 6128 and Orion Prime, so I got to have a go at it and marvel at that awesome high res title screen (didn't know the CPC was capable of doing that ..... it's really something to look at)

Looks like, between me & AndyT, we've converted some of those 'Amstrad haters' into 'Amstrad lovers' :)

Great job :D This game is really awesome and a great demonstration for CPC.

The CPC reigned supreme here, even being used in many (many video) stores with disk drive systems. Great stuff.

But we don't ask for a Greek version (not THAT would be something!). English would be fine...

...or, indeed, Esperando :D

ukmarkh

C'mon... when is the english version gonna be out? I'm sick of using the google translator whilst trying to play the game.

Did anyone get past the broken elevator?

I think I need an energy cell, recharge it and put it near the elevator so I can use it.

I need also to access the computer in the energy room but I don't know how.

Can anyone help me? Pleaseeeeee!  ;)

That is correct! :)

Highlight the text below to reveal some clues:

You'll need to find the access card. It's somewhere on level 2, so you'll have to fix the elevator first. ;)

robcfg

I knew I was in the right direction!  ;D

Now, If I could only find that cell... I think I've tried everything (which is obviously not true) and I cannot find it.

By the way, I love that they were inspired by the System Shock series of games, I'm big fan ^_____^

There's an energy cell hidden somewhere on your own vessel.

Thank you very much!

Now, that was hard to spot....  ;)
