Shadows of Death: news from the front!

A few weeks ago the Beat'em up project started for CPC: Shadows of Death!

In just a few days a playable Beta on Openbor simulating the Amstrad was up and running ... then a second and finally a third. A few days ago, the Twitch channel Froggy's Delight exclusively streamed an even more advanced version.
If we have remained silent since this Saturday, April 10, it is actually to work even harder, even faster ... to such an extent that we will soon be able to offer a final OpenBor version! :)

So I will not reveal to you today in detail what will await you in this final version of the game (it would be a shame to spoil it so close to the goal), but know that many additions and novelties will be present, such as, for example , a second character playable simultaneously, several bosses to face, new interactive objects, new items, new enemies, trophies to unlock, a few phases of the game moving away from pure beat'em up, new inspired music, speeches, inter-level screens, etc ...

So while waiting for the "D" day, I leave you on this screen ... a sort of patchwork of various graphics extracted from the game (and in which some clues have slipped: P).

Patience, death and its henchmen are coming ... ;)

And for more information, visit the official project website: http://amigamuseum.emu-france.info/Fichiers/sites/SOTD_site/SOTD.html

PS: The Amstrad CPC version is still under development and the project is still open to those who would like to develop their own versions of Shadows of Death! :)

Is this a picture from spectrum? I ask, because it looks like been drawn to omit color clash.

No, it's Amstrad CPC. But as I explained above, this image does not really exist: it is simply a patchwork made up of small bits of graphics taken from the CPC game, which gives certainly this impression of "collage". : p

Damned corporate AV blocks the site :(

Well the description alone sounds great :D

Does it play as well as it looks? Can't download it here at work :(

Skunkfish

It's a bit rich calling it an Amstrad CPC Let's Play when it only runs on PC!
I'd be curious to see how close it would get on an actual CPC....
An expanding array of hardware available at www.cpcstore.co.uk (and issue 4 of CPC Fanzine!)

Gryzor

Well true. I saw a couple of seconds and thought 'no way that's the CPC version'. But still nice looking.

TotO

It is finaly a neo retro game, faking the CPC... The interrest is very limited.
Sure, the topic started with the CPC in mind, but now it is an "other retro" subject.
