Has anyone ever seen the actual arcade cabinet to the game Gryzor back in the day? I can't find any image of it anywhere online.

AMSDOS

Is it because it's called Contra?

I saw a sit down / table top arcade version of it in the late 80s in Dublin. I'm unsure if it was an official one mind, Ireland was rife with bootlegs at the time
Was exactly like this so no way could it have been an official one... so nevermind.
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

Yeah in North America, sure. But the arcade version was still titled Gryzor in Europe.

That is what I'm referring to.

Yeah likely unofficial one. I'm just mostly curious what the marquee was above the screen for arcade Gryzor.

Well there's a really poor quality picture of the cabinet here but the top isn't really all that clear thanks to reflections. From the look of it though, it's just the same as the "Contra" cabinet top, just with "Gryzor" instead of "Contra".

EDIT: Scratch that, the site is just being lazy and sticking the "Contra" cabinet photos on there.

mgman

Heh, yeah I was just about to say that.

(unrelated, but I've also been looking for a photo of the Japanese version's cabinet, which has proven just as difficult to find; at least someone took a photo in front of that one, even though all they did was photograph the screen alone).

TotO

Unlike Contra in arcade, Gryzor is ONE player only.

Yes that is what I understood it as .
