Can someone give me some suggestions for relaxing Amstrad CPC games?

Examples of relaxing games in my opinion:
Fire ant
Frostbyte
Obsidian
Orion Prime
Prince of Persia
Radzone
Roland Ahoy
Spindizzy
Wriggler

What other relaxing games can you suggest I take a look at?

Thanks.

Daley Thompson games

I cant think of any serious ones other than what have been listed. Spindizzy is always good to play, if going down that route then Knight Lore / Alien 8 etc are quite similar.

I always found Beachhead quite relaxing, jetset willy too. But maybe I'm just weird. :D

Always have problems getting past the spider after dropping off the gold cause it moves up and down too quickly, aaaaugh!

What about Little Computer People? Tankbusters can be a bit of a relaxing game if you set it up that way.  :D
* Using the old Amstrad Languages :D * And create my own ;)
* Incorporating the Firmware :P
* I also like to problem solve code in BASIC :)   * And type-in Type-Ins! :D

JSW, relaxing?! Maybe I'm just a lot worse at that game than everyone else, but that's not a word I would have thought of. ;)

Actually, Chuckie Egg II can get quite zen, if you're into that sort of thing. It's not too difficult.

I wish I had more to recommend, because I could really use the help relaxing most of the time, too. :P

Did he also say things like "My treasureeeeee" and is he a little grey guy?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Actually never played Pirates, so I'll give it a go.

Really? You think thats relaxing? Hmm... I do have some cozy memories of that game, but I don't remember it being relaxing.  :)

I think Knight Lore and Alien 8 are quite different games. I've never much liked those isometric styled games, I must admit. Except the Batman one, but that's only because it's nostalgic to me.

After careful consideration I've come to the conclusion that it would be best for me not to comment on that until after I receive my new CPC...   :)

I've never understood Little Computer People. Is it even possible to get a feeling of moving forward? Can these little computer people even "grow"?
Will take a look at Tankbusters.

I did think of Chuckie Egg II myself. Don't remember why I didn't list it. It should be there yes.

I also have another addition myself, that I forgot: The Willow Pattern

Yeah LCP may not be the ticket.

You mentioned Paul Shirley's Spindizzy, perhaps his earlier Quack-A-Jack is also worth a look, though it has a bit of a time limit to it.

Sim City I guess could be relaxing. :)

Well, I was thinking they are similar in that are exploration games which require patience.

Not sur if "relaxing" but Nebulus and Deflektor are clealy in my favourites.

Otherwise, RPJs and wargames must come in this category...

Bloodwych, Heroquest (if you like blue graphics), Space Crusade, Defender of the crown...
Laser Squad ?
North & South.

Loriciels' D-Day looks good, I should give it a try, it is a rare PLUS game actually.

Yeah the CPC version is good, but its very long and drags on more than Spellbound Dizzy. I dare you to play the 16-bit version of CE2 and call it zen though. That is the furthest thing from relaxing there is, its so bad.

Took at look. Reminds me a bit of Rock Hopper.

Huh? I'm a troll now because I disagree? I think you may need to look up the definition of the word.
But thanks for the suggestions.

Yep, unlike Rock Hopper you can move from one side of the screen to the other and there's no Rocks to worry about, only nasties. Though the game is nicely done given it's part BASIC & part M/C, not hard to tell which is which.  :)

The gentle "troll" was the guy who pretended Daley Thomson's games were relaxing...

Breaking joystick is perhaps a way to remove stress after all.

I think you'd better define the word 'relaxing'. Prince of Persia, for instance - is it really relaxing? Sure, the first couple of levels, but I've pulled my hair a great many late nights trying to move forward... when I should've been asleep. So, no relaxation there :D

Adventures are usually relaxing. Pirates has some very tense moments.

Since LCP was mentioned (love this game, though never played it on the CPC) what was that 'game' that was made by a psychologist and you progressed in life through it, based on answering questions? A real gem if you ask me, and pretty relaxing - though quite thought-provoking.

Alter Ego perhaps?

Depending on the definition of relaxing and sticking with the Paul Shirley theme, how about Confuzion?

Gryzor

Ohh yes. Got to say - it really surprised me how much it touched me when I played it. There's an online version, and I see they have it on Android and iOS now (even if it's expensive - €4).

Would games like "Question of Sport" or "Mike Reed's Pop Quiz" (I think it's called) be considered relaxing?

I thought Domark's "Thunderjaws" was a bit of a relaxing game.  :D

Might want to check out some of the budget games by Atlantis, "Spooky's Castle" seems hard at first, though once I nutted it out it didn't take long to complete. "Crossfire" I think I completed it first go.  :o  But it sort of made me feel good that I was wasting some bad guys with my crosshairs. Another one like that I managed to recently complete was Bronx City Cop by Masteronic, though that was a lot harder.  :D

Yep, the definition of relaxing, I am not sure. Many different kinds there.

I would add a puzzle game like Color Lines, with it's wonderful music relaxing themes.

p.s. Adventures are relaxing and in fact one should have a relaxing attitude with them, not being too fast, not wanting to finish it and see the end very soon else you get to see the solution and it's not nice. When I have a lot of time in front of me, I could run an adventure but take my pace, if I can't find what to do next just go to places and look around and let myself lost in the surrounding, stare and relax. And then sometimes the answer comes.

Gryzor

I' getting off-topic here since it was not released on the CPC, but LucasArts' Loom was the most relaxing adventure I've ever played. A beautiful game.

Speaking of adventures, anyone ever played B.A.T. seriously?

mr_lou

A really relaxing game would be Nifflas' game "Knytt".

Would like to see something similar for the CPC. It should be a MODE 1 game stuffed with atmospheric background sounds and music.

What about Lazer Squad? It is a little frustrating mind you going through some of the menu's but a great non-frantic game!
