Hi There,

I am searching for a game name here.

I remember a game, I think it was published by either US Gold or Ocean. I am also sure it started with an 'E'

Is was a 3d 3rd person sideways scroller with a checkerboard floor made up of 4 or 5 'lanes' each lane could me moved into up or down and has various obstacles and powerups.

I am sure I am not mad, but even looking through the screenshots on TACGR I am not able to jog my memory enough to name it.

I hope the collective minds here remember it too.

Kind regards

Craig

The 5th Axis perhaps?

ou "Le 5ème Axe" if you search on French sites.

Probably not, it doesn't really fit your description.

Next try, this one fits your description better.

Impossaball

That's it. 100% metrocross.

And the wonderfully jolly soundtrack ;) Thanks and now for some retrogaming.

many thanks, Not sure where the 'E' came from, perhaps I only remember 'etrocross LOL.

Well, the M in the game's status panel looks like an E tipped over. :D

Incidentally, I can't believe just how similar Ninja Scooter Simulator is - cheeky!

Craig, if you don't want to be disapointed, don't try the Atari ST version.

A long time ago I hoped I could program a decent cpc version, maybe one day I will. No plans at the moment though.

Was going to say Impossaball myself, minus the lanes. Loved that game!

Hey, No chance of the Atari ST version here. CPC or Arcade original.

Arnold and Mame are enough emulators on this mac for me LOL

It was a great night. I'd forgotten just how good that was.. And the CPC even does a decent enough job of the soundtrack.

I liked it too, though those later levels were frustrating and would probably play the rest of that Cisco Heat Demo so I could get through something. (Yep it was on an AA Covertape  )

I actually loved Metrocross. Should that be a bad thing?
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

Puresox

It has plenty of flaws and not a game to boast about on the Amstrad , but it does have some entertainment in it despite everything.
