I think the answer is no, but I'm sure I read something about a web browser somewhere???

Well, there are some LAN solutions (VN96 or CPC-Booster+).
And there is an ethernet card under developpment, with a browser too. This project is WIP and can be found somewhere here (dunno the link now).

Or you could try setting it up as a serial terminal for a Linux/BSD/whatever Unix machine.

Did he also say things like "My treasureeeeee" and is he a little grey guy?

I think someone is making a serial->bluetooth adapter for the CPC? I believe these are off-the-shelf chips so nothing too complex. Maybe it's even possible to interface an LPC/SPI bus onto the CPC, and then use any SPI peripheral (including ethernet, bluetooth, wifi, etc).
I guess once that's available we could have a SLIP connection to the internet via your mobile phone or alternative Bluetooth device.
That still requires a TCP stack, but I believe there is one available that could be adapted.
After that is the software - the browser is getting going, so we just need IRC, Email, the cpc wiki reformatted for the cpc browser, etc.

There is a variety of serial interfaces you can add to the expansion port.

Oh wait, you mean the printer expansion port or the floppy one?

TFM

Oh, on the CPC464 it's the port at which you connect a floppy disc drive controller.
