Title: Advice for choosing a tool
Post by: talrek on 14:17, 14 October 15
hi,
i want to change my way to desolder things
I'm getting bored of the desoldering pump and other ways to desolder through-hole et SMD components.

So i'm looking for a desoldering station, European, American, chinese or martian it makes no difference to me, but i don't want something that will break in 6 months...

i want to desolder through-hole and SMD components. The best quality and the cheapest cost of course
Max price for me 200€

Thank you for your advices  ;D

Desoldering stations are fine for thru-hole but useless for SMD. Hot-air station is the only decent way to remove SMD.

They exist, but I don't recommend them. Usually one half of the system will break sooner than the other and you end up with a half working device. For the price range you're looking at, I'm told the Duratool D00672 is quite a good choice, but I haven't tried it out myself. I always use braid for thru-hole and hot air for SMD.
