Hey, I wanted to know, what is the company's stance on the dispersion of CPC ROMs? Is it the same as their stance for the ZX Spectrum ROMs?

Amstrad was sold years ago to Sky, you can distribute them, they don't care afterall the IP is really virtually worthless but you can't change them, sell them or use them in a product without licensing them.

TotO

As I know, the Amstrad CPC ROM usage was authorised for emulation purpose only.

Is that documented somewhere?

TotO

Yes, but I don't remember where. @OffseT probably know that information. (no commercial projects anyway)

Are you going to construct a new CPC clone / expansion?

Taken from CPCEMU v1.5 documentation :

The original Amstrad ROMs are included. The Firmware is copyright by  Locomotive Software; the BASIC is copyright by Amstrad. Amstrad and
Locomotive have given me permission to distribute the ROMs with CPCEMU.

As Marco Vieth is on the forum, better ask him directly in PM.
Also check the permission given for Spectrum ROMs :

Copyright?. Sky ignore amstrad. There is a new company in India called  amstrad that sell electronic products, same, as amstrad....

Sky should make a demant to it...

But not. Just let it go.... They not matter.
