Amstrad demos and/or walktroughs as mp4?

Being kind of a mobile phone geek, I was thinking about having CPC demos and/or game walkthroughs stored on my phone as mp4 video files. Many phones today have a resolution of 240x320 and is capable of playing movies with 320x240 resolution. In other words, they can show the Amstrad resolution perfectly.
It should thus theoretically be possible to render an mp4 file with exact pixel by pixel frames. That's what I was thinking anyway, so that each frame of the video is a crystal clear CPC screen. But I guess mp4 files compress an awful lot, not sure if it's even possible.

Anyone have any ideas / knowledge about video-rendering? It has to be the mp4 format.

Well, im no video wizard  :D But ive been doing some really nice recording using CPCE and Xvid. Uploaded a bunch to Youtube here (at 384x288 .. but with large borders):

Youtube now does a really good convertion of your videos to MP4. Takes like just a moment to upload a 50mb Avi and a couple of minutes for the convertion (i think youtube does more than one go on the Avi so the quality of the videos is now much better than early on). To get a Mp4 file (again 384x288 with large  black borders), all you have to do is go to "my videos" and click on "Download Mp4" and you get a crisp clear Mp4 on your hdd in no time.

Perhaps its possible to either cut the borders away, or perhaps there is a codec that does this kinda recording somewhere.

Hmm, trying to record some videos with WinAPE. Using the "Complete images uncompressed" codec thingy, but it still looks blurry I think, and the colors are all wrong. Too bright somehow.

I'm trying to record old stuff I made as a kid, with the purpose of making myself a DVD. :->

How do I record fine MODE 2 stuff? No matter what options I choose and what settings I select, my recordings are always very pixelated.  :(

WinApe only captures low-resolution.

I am using JavaCPC to playback things and Camtasia Studio Pro to capture it. (Windows needed)

Next JavaCPC (Or the actual BETA here) can use half display size but full GateArray emulation.

Start it and press " * " on NumberPad to zoom it smaller. " - " to zoom it larger.
Make sure, bilinear filtering is enabled.

I'll look at doing full resolution video capture for WinAPE in the next release, along with all the other stuff.

I did think about doing something like that, using Camtasia Studio or similar, which is probably what I'll end up doing too.

That's neat. I'll keep that in mind.

How's it going with this? Any new release yet that supports full resolution video capture?

Not much progress on anything yet. Life keeps on getting in the way.

Yea, life does that. No worries.  :)  I'm not in a rush.

Wow, how fast time flies when you're busy...  I haven't had a chance to have a look at it yet. I might have some more time soon, hopefully.

I've upgraded my development laptop, so just getting WinAPE to compile is quite fun at the moment. I'll see if I can get this into the next release, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
