A thread to discuss the Top 10 Amstrad tunes ever (as an individual subjective view)... an interesting look into what the general populous prefers when it comes to ingame or title-only music from 1984-2016.

01. J. Dave Rogers - Netherworld (Title)
02. Targhan - Midline Process (Carpet)
03. Targham - Demo Iz Art (Octopus)
04. J. Dave Rogers - Zynaps (Title)
05. Tom & Jerry - Edge Grinder (Edge A)
06. Matthew Cannon - Batman The Movie (Title)
07. Factor6 - Batman Forever (Main)
08. Ben Daglish - Footballer Of The Year (Title)
09. J. Dave Rogers - Cybernoid 2
10. We M.U.S.I.C. - Meltdown (Title)

Obviously, not forgetting... (only because I'm a huge 8-bit music fan...)

David Whittaker (Feud, Glider Rider, Spellbound Dizzy, Ghosts 'N' Goblins, Beyond The Ice Palace, Mr Heli, etc)

Rob Hubbard (Warhawk, Nemesis The Warlock, Spellbound, Thundercats, Monty On The Run, Trans-Altantic Balloon Challenge, etc)

Richard Joseph (Barbarian, Antiriad, Cauldron 2, Stifflip & Co, etc)

J. Dave Rogers (Bear A Grudge, Battle Valley, Marauder, Radzone. Stormlord, Uridium, etc)

Ben Daglish (Avenger, Switchblade, Deflektor, Future Knight, Mask 3, Pac-Mania, etc)

McKlain (pretty much everything he's ever done! Ever!)

I never focus who made music in game. I never was fan of chiptune.

But some games has nice music:
Robocop, Captain Blood, Prohibition, Gazza II, Titus The Fox, Ghostbusters, Manhattan '95, Solomon's Key (after game), Cybernoid, Arkanoid, Thanatos, (polish) Tetris, Antiriad, Froggy...

And of course Lemmings, because there is over 10 good songs. :)
In STARS, TREK is better than WARS.

Of the honourable mentions you are missing:
Jonathon Dunn: Robocop, Dragon Ninja (bad dudes?) and many more.

Then there's of course platoon (D. Wittaker), outrun(jas c brooke?),thing bounces back (B. Daglish), thing on a spring(B. Daglish), Gemini Wings (?)

Too many great tunes for me to make a top 10 :)

Dunn has a nasty tendency to be overlooked. I loved his tune for WEC Le Mans as well. Repetition has never sounded so good.

The Nebulus tune was also pretty awesome.
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?

Indeed, his tunes were pretty good. Also, THE VINDICATOR was a good soundtrack... although the "snare" instrument on DALEY THOMPSON'S OLYMPIC CHALLENGE just sounds wrong to me!

Is that the same "snare" used repeatedly in the middle of the Dragonninja theme? I've no memory of DTOC other than it breaking my joystick...

A few tunes come to my mind that stroke me when I was a kid:

Ghouls and Ghosts
Deflektor
Exolon (simple, but I always loved it)
Rescue from Atlantis (this one is very short and plays all the time during the game)
Turrican II
Some from Lemmings that were really awesome

There are also some great great tunes from the scene but since I did not hear them as many times as the others above, I cannot remember them  :)

Cybernoid 2!

I had forgotten that one and I played the game to death when I was a kid (with cheats  :picard2: ). I still love it although I was an extremely unskilled player.

Jim Griffiths

having not used my cpc for 20 years (but looking forward to getting it from my dads attic next month), I am most looking forward to hearing the music from these (if it works :O);

sacred armour of antiriad
saboteur 2
nemesis the warlock

I'm partial to the Golden Axe theme.
Definitely nostalgia but the CPC version is close to top if not top out of all the different machines the game appeared on for me.
Thou shall not question Captain Wrong!

YES! It's only drawback is that it's only about 45 seconds long and it goes on loop, but it's an awesome 45 seconds.

Also, Grand Prix Simulator, which I'd be very surprised if it didn't get mentioned.
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.

I may have confused this with something else and I can't remember what the hell it is. Been searching for the last hour!

In the meantime, I've discovered how awesome the theme tunes for North Star were.
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.

I had confused it with the theme for Aliens.

Aliens really had a good theme but it was so short and just looped.

Used to have that as a ringtone on my mobile for a period of time :)

It is, infact, more than DOUBLE 3 min long. The very beginning section of the tune is slightly different after the 3 minutes mark; making, if a little cheatingly, a 6+ min tune on CPC!
(Such a shame the collision detection is STILL fecked up! I have TotO's updated intro ready to go... for about 4 years, now! ^_^)

Yes, an amazing tune! Really sad that nobody have continued the job...  :(

Actually i kind of like the music in the  kilmax demo. I have q c64 and a cpc and for most part they have a distinct sound in general but can to some degree sound like eachother too... yet killmax seems to sound really good with a mix of ay and sid sounds in stereo.  Id love to hear a cpc rendition of the sanxion music done killmax style...
