So when i had a amstrad when i was littlle i had the greenscreen which i guess is why i still love using a green screen monitor even now, i had the tv modulator too.

i recently got a CMT 640 colour monitor and just find my eyes do not like it, it will most likely be down to years of LCD etc tvs i find it strains my eyes and kind of gives me a headache after a while. i had the same issue with a colour orion small tv that i had bought for retro gaming.....the green screen Amstrad monitor i am totally find with.

Anyone else ever have this issue and if so did it go away.

i am prone to headaches and migraines anyway and i am sensitive to certain things so maybe these monitors are just not for me.

i will keep it for a while to see how i go though. i also have a small Samsung syncmaster 510mp lcd monitor which i got last year simply because when i hook the Amstrad to it or even my raspberry pi it is perfect for retro games as the screen size is more or less the same as the Amstrad monitors where the games fit right as they should.

I know alot do not like those monitors and swear by CRT but i actually like this lcd monitor and games still look great to me.

Refresh rate probably? I think, though, that what we were told as kids ("your eyes will go bad!") has not been proven in the long term.

I've been thru all the back issues of Amstrad Action and Amstrad Computer User 3 or 4 times now and never noticed any letters about this, so probably down to individual biology. Myself I can't stand strong light - natural or artificial.

True plus majority of people if they had this issue would not have wrote into a magazine about it.

i think it could be to do with the type of screen tbh and scanlines...i am not technically minded as i was about to say pixels lol. the way it looks and the glass screen and low resolution i think maybe its just everything haha. plus being able to see every single ...dot i will call it as i am not sure what you call them on CRT screens.

could be that and everything else to do with them the type of light and i think its that i can see each DOT (not pixels but i am unsure what they are called on CRT tv screens)

Amstrad monitors are a piece of shit.
Although I have headache auras etc etc, I probably am immune to them.
Off-topic but the first level of Rick Dangerous makes my eyes crossed when I play it on an emu with LCD.

Amstrad monitors were just fine for the price... Well the 1084s I was in love with, but only a rich friend had one😀

Let me analyse that for you... Ah yes... You're an old fart, just like the rest of us :D We're not able for the "stress" of a CRT like we were when we were 14.
I have blurred vision after an hour of CPC gaming*.

Bryce.

*Other recreational substances may have had a factor in this.

Only start to worry if you see the real world in shades of green after a couple of hours of gaming.

yeh i guess they served their purpose and for the price point of the Amstrad a bargain i think when they were released so never were to be the best kind of monitor.

not sure what type of migranes mine are, been having them since 17 got worse through the years last 10 the worst and ive tried nearly all tablets and i have stopped on the ones that kind of stop them progressing into me being sick none stop every 15 mins for 2 full days which is how it used to be for me, daily tablets to prevent...if they fail then zolmitriptan which thins blood vessels in my brain and 90% time gets rid of migranes within 1 hr or so...depends if i take it too late etc.

though i can not use buses or trains either as i get the migranes and sick but these tablets do not for then for that.

so it is fair to say i have alot of issues with alot of thing...can not watch movies at the cinema either...BUT i am ok with VR maybe 2 hrs max sometimes 1 hr lol

Got an Oculus Quest, different titles have very different effects on me... Some I can play for hours (Rez rules!) but with others I get really fucked up, like the space station one.
