that's all right, use a sharp hacksaw to trim the LCD screen to 4x3 ratio and mount some nice stereo speakers in the gap either side of it in the mounting. This way you can fit a playcity inside as well. And it will sound good. ;-)

Yeah, I'd love to cram a CPC into a Psion 7 or a Psion MC400 A HP Jornada 720 wouldn't be bad either, but it would be a tight squeeze and the screen dimensions are all wrong.

Can't believe you're comparing  the jornada to a psion, and a 720 to a netbook/s7 at that! It would have to be a series 5/5mx to compare to a 720, or an 820 to a s7/netbook, and there's basically no comparison, the poor jornadas wouldn't stand a chance!


If you do decide to do it and want to reuse the 7/netbook screen, I worked out the pinout a few (10, probably) years ago. Same for the 5mx (but obviously that is greyscale so not much use).

Also consider how many people had and still have cellphones with a display of 240x320 pixels, and the many games that runs on these small displays.
Hasn't been a problem so far.

How do display a MODE 2 screen of 640 pixel in X when your cell only has 240?

Turn it in landscape... You display now 320px. 

Today, most phone can display 640x480 w/o problem.

I also have a 3c and a German 5MX (more memory than the UK version but I never had a 7. I have a Eeeeeeeepc 900 here that I could possibly squeeze a CPC into, but the keyboard is such a pain to use.

I thought that, so sold my EeePC 900 to my father in law, and bought a EeePC 1000 with the proceeds and a bit extra. Oth those were the days, small Linux powered netbooks.


Ahhhh, fond memories, but to get a CPC into that formfactor would be kewl, But please bryce, can you finish my 4128plus first
