Hi All,
Just wondering if many people out there have a Danish CPC (obviously with the Danish keyboard).
The Wiki has a good 464 picture and reasonable 6128 one showing what looks like a very dusty example.
What I am getting at is that from the couple of pictures on the Wiki and my searching, there does not appear to be much on the Danish versions.
Definately have not seen one for sale...I would be interested for my collection...but they almost seem rarer than a 472.
Also the wiki http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Keyboard_Versions (http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Keyboard_Versions)
says that "Older danish 464s had english keys, newer ones (with flat keys) had danish keys..."
But from the pictures I'd say it's the other way around as the pictures show older Amstrads (even a tall key 464)...
Cheers,
shane
Yup, I think you're right, I'm deleting that sentence. They probably switched mid-production...
Ask Mr.Lou, he's the only regular Danish Wiki Member as far as I know. If anyone owns one, then he should.
Bryce.
Well, i looked thru my 464 collection a while back and was surpriced that of the 10+ ones i had/has i didnt have a single danish keyboard one (even tho im danish). I did recall that my first (early days) amstrad was a genuine danish keyboard with the "ÆØÅ" keys.
Currently there is a amstrad 464 for sale here (with danish keyboard i think):
http://www.dba.dk/anden-spillekonsol-amstra/id-78084779/ (http://www.dba.dk/anden-spillekonsol-amstra/id-78084779/)
The suggested price of 600 dkr is roughly £70 for the whole lot (including screen and games too). But you can try sending a email as 99% will understand english. Note that it isnt a "locked price" auction as ebay, so you can send a email suggesting just buying the keyboard or suggest lower price. Shipping from Denmark isnt cheap so its probably best just asking to send the keyboard.
Anyways, id suggest keeping an eye on either www.dba.dk (http://www.dba.dk) or www.qxl.dk (http://www.qxl.dk) as amstrad stuff pops up there from time to time.
Thanks for the info Cholo, I will keep an eye on the links you provided.
Cheers,
Shane
Norway have the same special letters as Denmark. In Norway the early CPC 464s was delivered with the extra letters on stickers and it was up to the customer if he wanted to use them or not. My first CPC bought in february 1995 was one of these. Maybe later machines had software in ROM for the keys?
My CPC464 is a danish CPC with small keys and danish characters.
The first CPC in our family was a CPC464 with tall keys without danish characters.
I also had a CPC6128 with danish characters, but sold it when the diskdrive broke.
As far as I remember, the 464's with the tall keys didn't have danish characters. Only those with small keys did.
Thanks for the info guys.
Cheers,
Shane
