Man, back in the day my weapon of choice was the Amstrad CPC 464 with its colourful keyboard and tape-based media which used to take between 5-15 minutes to load a game and would frequently fail in the last few seconds of load time.

In those days I [/size]was an avid reader of Amstrad Action and Amtix! magazines; and was something of an Adventure game prodigy. Amtix! Magazine even named me one of a handful of Lords of Adventure who formed a kind of unofficial help desk for these games, with our names / addresses published in the magazine which netted me a tonne of letters (yes letters not Emails) from people all over the UK who were struggling with these games. Happy days!

Hi Morri,

Classic Cave Adventure, Mordons Quest, Forest At Worlds End and Heroes of Karn were some of my early favourites, but also enjoyed the old Level 9 Games Like: Emerald Isle, Red Moon, Lancelot.  Not played Orion Prime...but would like to if I can find a copy.  Just fired up the WinApe emulator so that I can try and replay some of the classics.

That's odd.  My 464 has hardly ever failed to load a game.  It was one of the things I liked most about my machine and it's built-in tape deck compared to my friends C64's and Spectrums which they often complained about failing to load.   Even today it still loads games fine.  Think it's struggled with one but that could just be a bad or aging tape.  :)
Favorite CPC games: Count Duckula 3, Oh Mummy Returns, RoboCop Resurrection, Tankbusters Afterlife

Orion Prime really shows what the CPC can do I had B.A.T when it came out and that was amazing to look at and play.
