Title: HELLO ALL
Post by: Penda on 12:41, 28 November 17
Hi everyone,

My name is John and have been following these forums for some time and finally decided to register and join in. My first computer was an Amstrad CPC464 brought in around 1985/86. I have always had a fondness for the CPC series and considered them vastly underrated along with the likes of Atari XL/XE and MSX machines. For me the Batman demo from Rhino really showed what our beloved machine could do. My favourite games from the past were Tau Ceti and Rebel Star but I am afraid I do not probably have the patience and persistence to enjoy these now. The 8 bit/16 bit era were the best of times for me in computer history as new ideas and achievements were regular features particularly in the graphical and audio departments. I moved onto Amiga 500 then PC, however the later rarely thrills as much as back in the day. I hope to be a regular contributor and well as just a reader in the future, and aim to get into CPC tracking via Arkos.

Welcome to the forum! My family got a 464 about the same time yours did!

I'm sure the Batman demo was a huge influence on many of the people on this forum, it was a massive inspiration for me during my game development! I've not been able to watch any Amiga or PC demos since, the 8 bit ones are so good they're just making everyone else look lazy!

I look forward to hearing what you do with Arkos, it's really an incredible bit of software!
