Hi

New to the forum after buying 464 yesterday 30 years too late.
I was a C64 owner as a kid but have been buying old computers and finally got a CPC (£40 with a colour monitor!!)
So far the tape deck isn't working but I've had some great help from members already.

I'm hoping/planning to run CDT files from Tapdancer using a cassette adaptor.
Is there anything else I need to consider or is there anything I need to be aware of as a first time CPC user please?

Yes! As you are used to playing C64 games, you should be warned that CPC games contain COLOURS. This means that the display may vary throughout a considerable part of the colour spectrum. You will experience things such as Green, Red and even Blue. I know you won't have ever experienced this on a C64, but don't be afraid, the 464 isn't broken, that's the way it's meant to be

Always nice to meet people who are latecomers to the CPC and have different backgrounds.

There's not much o be aware of (other than the detail that Bryce touched). Hope you don't get bored soon with the tape games (though I guess the experience with the 1531 and even 1541 wasn't much different). Just make sure you go for CPC original titles, not shitty Speccy conversions!
