Hi guys.
I've been reading this website for a long time, but just decided to sign up as a user in case I wanted to make a comment.
...and because I hoped I wouldn't get those annoying verification questions when I do a search...but no such luck. Oh well. :D
Some of you may already know me as I've been programming for years - although not on the Amstrad...mostly just PC stuff.
The only game I've done in assembler is Dingo (http://tardis.dk/wordpress/?page_id=764)for the Spectrum and hopefully I'll do some more stuff...sometime.
Yes, I'm a Spectrum person and has always been - I don't even know anyone who had (or has) a CPC, but it seems like a nice machine and I like to read about it and follow what's going on with it.
I hope to find one online (some day) that won't cost me an arm and a leg, so I have that to play with. ;)
Take care.
/S
welcome Sokurah!I saw the review of your conversion of Dingo to the Spectrum in Retro Gamer. You've done a great job.

Depends where you are from...
Most Amstrad CPC can be found in France.

then I guess you're from a land haunted by awfull colour clashes... ;D

I'd prefer to get a CPC6128, but the few times I've looked on eBay I haven't found any that I was willing to pay for (isn't it always like that ;)) - but there's no rush...I've made it so far with emulators. :)

Any plans for any Amstrad games from you?

Well, the idea
has crossed my mind, but as I can't even come up with an idea for a Spectrum game it won't be anytime soon.
Besides, I may know z80, but I have no clue how the Amstrad hardware works and "how to do things" on it.
...so
if it happens it'll be a while. Don't hold your breath. ;)
A big welcome from me too, mate, it's always really nice to have newcomers to the community, people from other machines... :)

*Yeah, look, your flag has only 2 colours... this mean you can just get 2 colours per attribute...
We in france have 3... ;D

how much are you willing to pay ?
If I can find a cheap and well equipped cpc6128 (perhaps even a PLUS) in france near my hometown, I could get it directly and send it to you... the delivery being actually far more expensive than the computer itself.
could be quite cheap provided you don't want the Monitor...
to get a proper powersupply is not quite hard, nor to do yourself a proper Scart/peritel cable...
Also it is quite easy to put a more practical 3"1/2 diskdrive so you may get a fresh supply of Disks (more softwares are available to download... just be sure you still have an "old" PC in WindowXp with a 3"1/2 internal disk drive too...
But if you are a speccyman, you may already have a good sotck of 3" stuff... provided you have some Speccy+3 from... Amstrad...
(Also PCW are a good source of 3" disk drives and Disks)
Joysticks are the sames as on Amiga or AtariST... so quite easy to find.
And Bryce produce awesome Hardwares extensions (Mouse, Flashboard...)
So if we can tell the price to deliver a simple "naked" CPC6128... Which may not be that expensive as it is quite a compact and almost light computer... no need for a big box and the weight should be less than 5 kg...
I can perhaps find one for 30euros max, probably even cheaper, Just need to find the proper opportunity.
Sadly it would be a AZERTY (or perhaps even QWERTY) most probably.
Ok, according to the "La Poste Française" site, this should cost something like around 30euros to send a 5-6 kg package...
If you want the monitor, this should be more around 70euros.
The problem is that for most computers you may find in france, the seller may not be eager to do the delivery, it is complicated, aso he may not speack english... nor Dane... :-[

I wouldn't need a monitor, and about 60 euroes - delivery included - would be about the absolute maximum amound I'd be willing to pay, so I guess it'd be possible.
However, I wouldn't want a AZERTY keyboard no matter what.
I don't have any 3" discs though - I never had an Amstrad Spectrum. I did have Desciple and PlusD disc interfaces though, so I have plenty of 3.5 discs. :)
But never mind for now. I didn't sign up to get a good deal on a computer (although it wouldn't be a bad thing either ;)) - for now I'm just here to read and make an occasional comment. :)
I wasn't offering a firm deal... :D
just to show you it can be possible to get an amstrad for a decent price...
It's not frowned upon to register just to buy/sell stuff, but it's always good to have another active member :) Good luck finding a nice CPC!

There's Z80 source code for a few games I wrote on www.winape.net (http://www.winape.net) in the downloads section. May help you to get started.
P.S. What's a kinda?

Yes France is the place to be :) I bought two 6128 for 10 euros last weekend, one azerty and one qwerty, in relative good shape for their respectable age :)
Leboncoin.fr is a way cheaper than eBay.

I have a lot of 6128 and even a 6128PLUS available near my home, not too expensive for some of them, are some of you interested ?

Just kidding. I did know that. In fact it's one of the two words that make up the US English language. The other being "Arse-some".
Welcome! :) :) :)

Thanks TFM/FS.

Amstrad CPCs didn't sell that bad in Denmark. You should be able to find one there giving it a few months. You danes even had your own Amstradbladet and another magazine with Amstrad CPC typeins. My brother subscriped to it in the eighties.
Velkommen! :)

Yes the same as Norwegian ones - øæåØÆÅ
On my early feburary 1985 machine I only got stickers for the norwegian keys. A rom with the keys were supposed to come out. I have never seen it and are unsure if real norwegian/danish keys and ROM exist

There is a Danish 464 rom that does exist. I have it and Arnold supports it.
I believe I sent it to Grim for his website and i thought it was here on cpcwiki or perhaps on a forum post?
I don't know about a Norwegian rom.. soft 968 seems to indicate that Spanish, French, Danish and English are the official variants.

Then danish ROMs can have been used in Norway. The special keys are the same, although the layout of the keyboard is a just a little different.
And there is a danish 6128 rom.

This is not a ROM, but it's nice, sort of like your cousin from abroad who looks a bit like your family but also slightly different and sexy. :D
Btw, Anroldemu, I upped the ROM in the repository as well, hope you don't mind...

I don't mind if you upload them.
I hope Mr.Lou doesn't either.
Oh, thanks for the clarification, Mr. Lou, can you confirm so I can give you credit?
