Did anyone buy this months Retro Gamer, and if so could they scan in the homebrew page with the review of my game Pix, and upload the png please?

Thanks in advance.

SyX

It's only a small note, but sure you will glad to read it ;)

Bonus points for the CPCWiki basking in the game's shadow :D

I'm just pondering over that screenshot and wondered if they were using Winape, it looks like they have their DirectX switched on and are simulating PAL that way, which people have been pointing out distorts the image. Since I switched off the DirectX, things look so much clearer.  :D

Yeah, it does look quite blurred. Strange. A while back RG contacted me (Darren?) to ask me to take some clean screenshots for them. Seemed weird, but did it anyway...

I had that once with some author I got in contact with who was revising their book. I sent them my photo of a plant they had in their book (which was missing the picture of it) and they were grateful for it, though when their revised book came out, I had competition from one of their other authors who had a photo of it, and they used their's instead. I still thought mine was better  :D

Cool! This is a great retro mag. I bought an older issue few days ago. Might check for the new issue. I love the homebrew articles.

How to get a PDF of Retrogamer? Any ideas? Links?

EDIT: Without the need of visiting the dark slots of the internet.

Either you buy the digital version or you visit the dark corners of the interwebz.

If people start downloading this wonderful mag from dark places, then you only have yourselves to blame when it's gone. This guy Darren has put a lot of time and effort into the mag, along with the retro community.

TFM

Well, yes. So let me ask again... any legal link?
(Yes, I'm using IE, and maybe I just can't find it...)

Do they ever have Type-ins in it? Whenever I checked this magazine out, it's always old games reviews from the days when 8bit computers were fashionable. I would of thought with the amount of Emulators, Programming Tools available people would be sending in their stuff.  :D

I'm a subscriber to RG for years now, and though I wish they had a sensible pricing for additional digital copies, I wouldn't share any pirate links :D

@TFM: try the Future Publishing website.

@AMSDOS: there was some talk about type-ins but not much came out of it, which is a shame.

ukmarkh

Type in's would be an excellent idea... as long as they were new and original ideas (not simply a cut 'n paste from old mags), my god! This could start a bedroom coders revolution all over again.  :)

Gryzor

Yes, it would; I know I'd type them in each month...

AMSDOS

I'd buy it if there were some programs to type-in from it. Original programs would be preferable. With the availability of different languages around these days a magazine shouldn't be limited to just BASIC or BASIC with a M/C loader and it's just a good way of working through a different language.  :D
