Hello Guys,

I've had a good day, I got home from work to discover the postman and UPS man have been good to me.

Postman provided a Multiface II remake - Thanks @talrek it works perfectly :)

UPS Man deliver my GX4000, all working fine except one minor query....

When running from a 5v supply the video from the scart signal is all off colour and pulled left., from the 11v supply all is good.

The Monitor RGB is good regardless of Power supply.

Question is this normal? I know the provided Power Supplies are highly frowned upon (Although I am using it at the moment) Can anyone recommend (post a link to) an alternative 11v power supply that will be safe to use and allow me to get full (correct) colours on the Scart socket?

Regards

Where is the 5v from? The Plus monitor?

Did you follow my mistake and plug it into the wrong plug?

The one on the far right is for the monitor power I believe.
The one next to it is the official (9v) power supply.

The picture is good on a cm14 monitor :)

SCART? Hmmm... is that a French GX4000?

I've used various 5v supplies, all the same. The RGB monitor supply is fine with either the cm14 or my other 5v. With the 11v that came with it is fine on both RGB monitor and scart.

Based on the stickers I'd say its Spanish or Italian.

I might try a decent 9v supply.

The 11V supply was used to put >9.5V to pin 8 of the SCART socket. This tells the TV to go to AV input at ratio 4:3. It may be floating and sending spurious signals to the TV when the 11V aren't there. Try removing pin 8 from the SCART plug at the TV end.

Aren't all GX-4000 supposed to have a SCART connector?

they have a bit of a reputation for beeing super cheepo power supplies with a high 'console blowup' rate.

As I know: Yes.  ;)

Maybe I was thinking RF connector?
Or maybe I was getting confused with MP1?

Probably one of those
