paperclip? is that for the ready signal?

I always go for the "resolder the surface mount resistor" approach ;)

Yes, for the ready signal and to make pins to plug button to force A:/
I am not very good in soldering so i'am trying to avoid this as possible.

About paperclip , this article in wiki was helpfull. The only thing i have to do is to reverse cable and that was not written in the article.

both ideas are great, and so simple and clean.
looking at your pic I really like the way the switch has been done for making it A.
nice and neat and simple.

I have a cpc that has been modified internally for side switch and ABBA switch.

I'll take a picture of my simple setup when I have time.

I also use an old PC cable and a pc power supply.
I connect to the cpc using the 5.25" edge connector part and then connect to the drive with one of the other IDC connectors.
But as yet, no side switch or abba switch have been added to the leads.
