Sadly, my Grandfather passed away over the weekend at the age of 91. A lovely gentleman and a decorated Royal Navy veteran, he'd seen the world and then some. He will be missed.

However, his passing has meant I've inherited this beautiful thing:

[attachimg=1]

CPC464 with CTM644 colour monitor in great condition and in full working order (apart from a slightly dodgy monitor socket), plus an Epson LX400 printer. Complete with user manual, original dust covers and a copy of Easi-Amsword. Grandad used this to write all of his correspondence until very recently.

Unfortunately, having recently sold all of my Amstrad stuff, I currently have no software for it whatsoever (apart from Easi-Amsword of course). Looks like I'll be trawling Ebay for a few cheap tapes, cos I'm definitely gonna be keeping this one...

Sorry to hear about that. And nice inheritance too.

I still have some of these tapes here if you are interested: Serious Clearance.

Bryce.

Carnivius

Sorry for your loss.   Lovely condition 464 there though.

I'm gonna be selling off some of my games as I'm trying to raise money to buy myself my first car so if there's anything you're looking for just say and I'll see if I got it.
Favorite CPC games: Count Duckula 3, Oh Mummy Returns, RoboCop Resurrection, Tankbusters Afterlife

I'm sorry about your loss... another good CPC user goes to Heaven :)

Thanks all for the kind messages, much appreciated.

Sorry for your loss.

You can always get one of those car radio tape adapter things, and play tapes from your pc or mp3 player to load into your 464.

Another option is buy yourself a pack of D-90's (yes they are still on general sale) and download some AA / ACU / CwtA magazine scans, and get typing. Free software, old skool style.

Sorry for your loss - but great to know a CPC was still being used for more than just retro purposes until very recently!
