I want to say hello to everyone, but especially to Sakis and Xenomorph, the latter of whom also informed me that someone was looking for me here. ;)

When I was about 10 years old, it wasn't me who had an Amstrad CPC, but my older sister, who bought a 464 with the idea of managing her business's invoicing and asked me to study the Basic manual to help her with that, although that help never materialized into anything useful :o . Shortly after, she gave me the computer, and I used it until I was about 15 years old, at which point I bought my first PC i486 and a Super NES. Four years after that, the CPC started to fail, and I got rid of it, a decision I have regretted terribly since  :'( :'(

"About 5 years ago, during the Covid pandemic, I discovered CPCRetrodev and after almost 30 years, I returned to programming in CPC's Locomotive Basic to compete. The first year I didn't do very well, but the next 2 years went quite well. I programmed 2 games that used the MODE 1 and CALL &BD1C trick to the extreme. All my effort is based on trying to achieve the maximum visual appeal and graphic speed that my ability allows, using only Basic.

That's all I wanted to say, well, happy new year 2025 to everyone!!  ;D

Welcome aboard Francesc !! So glad to have you around.

Your game Wrecking Ball made a big impression on me, and I really enjoyed reading its dedicated PDF doc (the making of).

What I usually like about your work:
- incredible visuals
- well-crafted programs (bug free etc).

IMO you pushed the limits of what the BASIC can offer for games on the Amstrad.

My current project is Sonic GX, a remake of Sonic the Hedgehog for the awesome Amstrad GX-4000 game console!

Maybe, but it is because the CPC have the better BASIC and is the most powerful 8 bits computer and for confirm that affirmation you only need to see games like 'Bombjack CPC' from Anthony Flack (don't know if is already finished?), 'Pinball Dreams' from Batman Group, 'Puzzle Bobble' from Crazy Piri, and of course, your Sonic GX is absolutely stunning for the Plus / GX 4000 machines. Great work, congrats!
