Title: Noobie in town
Post by: Fissuras .. on 23:04, 26 August 16
Hi guys!

I've registered a few minutes ago just after reading a thread about MSX to CPC port. I've found it especially amusing as the poster was a brazilian guy (just like me) and I've never ever heard of a CPC fan around here. Brazil is the land of MSXes. So I've got hooked and joined the train so let's see what I can discover about this beloved coputer!

See ya!

PS: how the hell am I supposed to know "How much memory, in k, in a CPC464?"

The 464/664/464Plus have 64K RAM and the 6128/6128Plus has 128K RAM.

Lol.  Eitherway I guess the CPC is very close to MSX (initial) spec wise. Not many of them around here (in Denmark). A friend of mine had a sony hitbit with no software and storage, we only used to take it apart to look at the pcb :)

Welcome!

Comparing MSX to CPC in a simplified way:
- Both have same CPU (Z80) (ok turbo R has a R800 which is a super Z80)
- Both got Speccy ports (games converted from Spectrum without trying to change them for the hardware)
- Both have SymbOS
- Normal CPC doesn't have hardware sprites. (Plus does)
- Both have AY-3-8912 sound (I think that is MSXSound on MSX?)

Of course there is a lot more to learn and see :)

Better not, there is enough bots out there. And to google it can't be that hard.  :)
