Many of the CPC disk/tape images I have seen contain content which would not have been on original media - introductory material, game cheats and so on.

Has there been any effort put into cataloging and preserving clean images of original media - perhaps a database similar to those maintained by No-Intro?

For some it was quite a hard work to hack games. I guess some won't miss a copy protection  ;)  However, check out the French ressources, they more often have both - a hacked and an original DSK.

I'm not sure what you mean bakery2k. There is a FTP directory of stuff which has been cracked, though all the stuff which is in ADATE (??), should be original programs, materials.

CPC-Power was a great resource of material and it was collecting everything about what each program would have, so in many cases there would have a modified disc, tape, original disc, etc. Sadly the Hack  >:( which occurred months ago has done quite a bit of damage. :(
