I got a sega sc3000h and c64c after I got my cpc but they weren't successors, that would be an Amiga 500.  My cpc is still the most fun computer I have outside of video games.

genesis8

Amstrad CPC 664 in 1985, Amstrad PC 1512 double 5,25" disks in 1988 which I bought myself at 18 years old having starting to work during summer since the age of 16.

Maybe only 50 have a keyboard?  :D

Amiga 2000 with second drive, 1MB, external sampler and the PC-XT card. I could play Flight Simulator on both the XT and the amiga, connected via 0 Modem cable on a single machine.... Unfortunately, I could only see on screen in full, or both screens in half :)
Proud owner of 2 Schneider CPC 464, 1 Schneider CPC 6128, GT65 and lots of books
Still learning all the details on how things work.

I went over to the SE/30. Although it was B&W (my vote) it had a 256 colour card, so after a while I hooked up a Sony Trinitron VGA monitor as second screen in 640x480, 256 colour. On Mac since, although I refuse to go to ARM, not because of the chip, but I never liked Candy Crush OS. Still have the SE/30, but today it has an original Apple RGB monitor. No idea when I did away the Sony. Then I went to LC475 with a 19" IIyama CRT, but that machine is dead nowadays, I heard early 90's computers age worst, even processors from that era can stop all of a sudden.
Teaching computer science on a high school with the CPC, P2000T, Spectrum and C64.

Second hand 1040STFM. Would have liked an Amiga 500 but I also wanted a full meg and I kept hearing friends complaining about the 500's small memory, so an expanded 500 was out of reach for me.

I remember it being quite a cultural shock, coming from a 6128, but also technically a bit challenging at first - get to know the OS, all the tricks required to run cracked games, stuff like that. But I really loved that machine.

Oh! The hours I spent playing Bubble Bobble doubles with my then girlfriend...

Amiga 500 then 500+ then 1200 for me. I bought the Amiga over the ST because I wanted to use the blitter for graphics.

Before I moved to the Amiga though, I used approximately IBM PC clones (RM Nimbus) at school for a couple of years.

I got an Archimedes A3010 in 1993, a great machine which I really enjoyed while it was my main machine. But I switched to a used 468 DX-whatever MSDOS PC around '95/'96 because of the better availability of software for music creation, like Fasttracker II.

I think it I paid around 1400 Deutsch Mark. Additionally, I had to get a monitor capable of displaying all the different screen modes the Archie offered, so I bought a NEC Multisync 3D from a friend for some extra money.

Given that I used my CPC religiously until around 1997 (from 1994 after a couple of years hiatus), I wound up with a PC (Pentium 233MMX, 32GB RAM, 3.2GB Hard drive, Windows 95).

I had moved over to console gaming for a bit during the 90s, first with a NES in 1992 (traded a bunch of VHS videos and got this and a ton of games with it), and then a Sega Megadrive.

The Amstrad and all it's bits ended up in the attic for years, where they remained... after I had moved out. I lived to tell the tale.
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?
