Title: Where to get Amstrad Text games tape and disc
Post by: jww on 14:06, 06 July 19
Hello,
Hope it's ok to post here. If I've posted in the wrong place or shouldn't ask please let me know and accept my appologies.
I'm trying to get all the games I used to have as a child for my old Amstrad 6128.  It's turning into a must do mission.

The main ones left that I'm looking for are infocom and magnetic scrolls games but I'm really struggling to find them.

Is the best place to keep an eye out for these on ebay? or is there other places I should look at ?
Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hi jww,

There are a few members who have a special interest in text adventures so you should probably get a helpful reply from one of them today or tomorrow. :)

And here is a link to a YT  video you may find interesting.

Hello ComSoft6128,
Thank you so much for that link, just watched it and really enjoyed it!  It's sad about Infocom but they will forever have a fond place in my heart because of their games.
The Lurking Horror was my first text adventure and it sucked me into another world. I didn't ever beat the game and still think about it regurlarly.  Not many games stuck with me from my youth but this was one.
Thanks again.
Best

The 3" disk versions of Infocom, Level 9, and Magnetic Scrolls are very collectable, not just for Amstrad users but also for Spectrum +3 adventurers, so they can be difficult to come by.

They do appear every so often on eBay but it's also worth keeping an eye on some of the specialist sales groups on Facebook if you're after boxed originals... especially ones in good condition with all the manuals and feelies.

Jinxter is currently on eBay for £40, for example.
