Ok, I can't delete spam and scum, so somebody pleas do so.

Please post all links to Wiki pages which contain unrelated stuff / spam here, so somebody can care about it.

Ah, thanks so much for that, and to @villain for blanking those pages. I deleted them and blocked the accounts.

That's what happens if you stop looking at the rss feed :D If anyone finds more spam, please do report it here!

TFM

Pleasure. And just saying: You do a wonderful job maintaining all this.  :) :) :)

Just blanked it...

You do an constantly well job! Great!  :)  (Where is the tumbs up similey when you need it?!  ;D )

p.s.: Don't know if this is possible, but blocking new users with a two digit number at the end of the name could help a lot. All that spam comes from something like UUUUUNN where NN is a two digit number.

Also we could ask for the hex value of the opcode of RET instead of the number of KB in CPC464

You mean like Grahconr29

Thanks man, I saw it a little after you blanked it and deleted/blocked.

Unfortunately the 2-letter rule is not only difficult (would require manual code changing, and I know better by now...) but also impractical: these are probably human spammers since they bypass the captcha mechanisms, so giving them an "illegal username"would just prompt them to try more...

gerald

A good solution would be to link the wiki user name to the forum ones and only allow wiki editing after some post.
But this also require some code.

Well, if they see that we don't allow them to successfully spam, they'll give in after a while.  ;D ;D ;D

You are welcome. :-) I'll keep an eye on it. But if they become more active you'll probably run into trouble some day...

Yeah... I had looked into it at some point. Rather difficult, unfortunately... not worth it for the spammer trouble alone, though the functionality is nice.

Indeed, spammers seem to come in bouts. They give up after a while. And yes, the two numbers in the username are a dead giveaway it's a spammer!

Not such a problem, I'll just enable manual creation verification from the admin :)
