All of the Xmas music I've listened too on the CPC is cr*p and I've almost given myself an aneurysm trying to decipher the file formats to transfer some from the Atari ST (which is something I intend to rectify in the new year, how hard can it really be to get the DMA on the Plus to do the hard work for digidrums etc?!).

So, does anyone have any good CPC Xmas music?  Or can anyone recommend something that would fit in nicely for a Xmas themed production?  Or anyone want to write some (not anything special, just 'nice')...?

Anyone?

Even just a recommendation...?!

My demo is nearly finished...

Maybe you should ask at cpcscene.com, erm... Pushndingensda to find a french guy who could do some music...

I have vague memories of an ACU Christmas demo, that had a half decent Christmas background theme, or maybe I just dreamt it?

Okay, thanks for the suggestions.  Probably should have asked someone earlier but only though of doing it at the last minute  8)

I managed to rip some from another demo, can't find a reference to the author though at the moment which is a bit annoying.

Was the ACU demo a type-in?

Bryce

I think it was a cover tape?

Does anyone know who wrote this music I have ripped (attached as a DSK to this post, run"xmas to play)...?

I have seen it in this demo (with unknown Russian authors) and this demo (by Brothers Team - Catloc & JFMC) but neither seem to credit the author of the music.

Hello,

That looks like a soundtrakker 1.0 module, so it is not very young. I suppose it has been done by a german freak (we french never compose christmas tunes, we prefer "La marseillaise" :-) ). You should probably find it in a german fanzine (many tunes were ripped from them).

I think the module has been badly ripped, one voice should not be played at the beginning of the tune.

Thanks for the information - have run out of time now but will look out for the fanzines.

Yes, I noticed this but I actually quite like it...!  I'm not sure if it was deliberate because it appears two different ways in the demos, but the long note underneath adds a bit of 'bass' at the beginning.  And it reminds me that I ripped it though so I think it will stay  8)
