Hello Everyone
A familiar story I'm sure. Had a new CPC464 for Christmas 1986 and spent the day playing Roland on the Ropes. Loved it for years and got super excited about the new plus range coming out and buying a GX4000. Well we know how that all turned out and I eventually moved onto the Amiga my second computer love.
Spent plenty of time collecting bits and pieces both Amstrad and Amiga especially when the systems fell out of favour and everything was being sold off at prices in my budget. I just couldn't walk past an Arnold at a car boot sale without taking pity on it and giving it a new home. My 6128plus was a car boot find in the late 90's, keyboard only for £2 I didn't expect it to work but it did. A shame with the rise of eBay the car boot sellers are so much more informed.
Totally regret never getting around to ordering the fabled Chase HQ 2 on cartridge from Wave Electronics. If only I could send a message to teenage me!
Recently over this Christmas whilst surfing the net a retro news article about Pinball Dreams on the CPC caught my eye and I was encouraged to read more about the current Amstrad scene. Lots of interesting developments and so pleasing to find I am not the only one with love still for these old machines.
Fortunately I could never bring myself to part with any of my collection and for the most part its all survived 30 odd years in the loft.
Now I'm back to playing the games of my childhood on the original hardware (using a Gotek).
Alas I am useless at programming and average at best at soldering so no new amazing developments from me but then every scene needs consumers to help keep it alive  ;)
Here's to the next 34 years!

Welcome aboard. Christmas 86 was also when I got my CPC464. Found myself playing Oh Mummy again the other day!

Make sure you give Pinball Dreams a decent shot. I think it needs a memory expansion but there are still a few third party options you can get today. :)
Enjoy!
Currently playing on: 2xCPC464, 1xCPC6128, 1x464Plus, 1x6128Plus, 2xGX4000. M4 board, ZMem 1MB and still forever playing Bruce Lee.
No cheats, snapshots or emulation. I play my games as they're intended to be played. What about you?
